After helping to defeat the strange water creature, Knuckles tells Sonic and co. about how he saw it at the same time his Master Emerald was destroyed, causing Angel Island to crash into the ocean. He goes off to find the shards of his destroyed Emerald, whilst Chris offers to help Big find Froggy.

Sonic meanwhile goes off to find his pal Tails. Knowing that Chaos Emeralds make the Chaos creature stronger, Sonic tells Tails that they need to find the rest of them before Eggman can get his hands on them. As it happens, Tails already has one Emerald. Meanwhile, Knuckles finds his first Emerald shard. In doing so, he has a vision of the past, of a group of Echidnas arguing. They appear to be in the same area that the Master Emerald shrine is, but it is in perfect condition.

Sonic and Tails come across another Emerald in a windy valley, but Eggman appears in a battle-equipped Egg Mobile and tries to take it back. Sonic defeats him, but in doing so accidentally allows Chaos to get hold of his two Emeralds, causing him to grow even larger! Sonic defeats the beast, but Eggman rescues it and escapes to his Egg Carrier. As it flies across Station Square, with Sonic and Tails in persuit, a small bird escapes the fortress - landing right on Amy Rose. Soon after, a large green robot confronts Amy and captures both her and the bird. Can Sonic and Tails rescue her using the X Tornado against Eggman's massive flying fortress?

England: 01/09/04

After loosing the battle against the Egg Carrier, Sonic and Tails regroup. Tails, injured in the crash, insists he still help Sonic catch up with the fortress. Amy on the other hand, wants nothing more than to be off the ship, held captive in one of Eggman's cells.

While Chris and Big search for Froggy, Eggman mobilises his E-100 robots to nab him first. E-102, code named Gamma, manages to grap the frog from out of Big's paws. While he escapes back to the Egg Carrier, Chris and Big also manage to stow away. Eggman, disappointed with the other three E-100's failure to find the frog, teleports them all away - keeping only the Gamma. Pleased with his success, Eggman sends Gamma to find Amy and retrieve Lily, the little bird she has with her.

Whilst searching for the cell that Amy was in, Gamma accidentally comes across a lab, which has none other than his big brother E-100, Beta, being dismantled. Eventually finding Amy's cell, Gamma attempts to take the bird only to be questioned by Amy as to his purpose. Confused, Gamma begins to malfunction and think for himself. Amy persuades him to let them go, much to her - and Gamma's - surprise.

With Knuckles joining Sonic and Tails with the assault on the Egg Carrier, the X Tornado transorms into a new, swift mode to out maneuver the fortress' guns. Will they be able to get past the weaponry and stop Eggman?

Episode 30:

Japanese title: Egg Carrier Battle
English title: Title unknown

First air date:
Japan: 26/10/03
America: [Not yet aired]
England: 02/09/04

Amy and Lily make their escape on the Egg Carrier, only to be stopped by Bocoe and Decoe. Eggman arrives and snatches the bird, taking from it a hidden Chaos Emerald. Sonic and Tails arrive in time to help her out, causing Eggman to summon Gamma to take them on. Gamma and Sonic fight, only to be stopped by Amy. Confused, Sonic agrees to let the robot go.

The Egg Carrier suddenly begins to lose altitude, so Sonic makes Tails help Amy escape. Knuckles meanwhile is searching for Emerald shards on the lower decks, only to have another vision of the past. Seeing the whole Emerald altar on fire, he sees the echidna girl panicking and talking cryptically of what happened. Knuckles suddenly gets a glimpse of a terrifying monster, only to come back out of the vision.

Big and Chris manage to rescue Froggy, but soon are stopped by Eggman. Eggman takes the Emerald Froggy swallowed and causes Chaos to transform once again, as well as making it absorb Froggy to regain its tail. Big and Chris try to help him out, but end up trapped in Chaos' watery body as well. Sonic and Knuckles arrive and eventually manage to defeat the beast, and Sonic goes off to fight Eggman.

Knuckles gathers the six Emeralds Chaos dropped, and (rather shakily) escaped on the X Tornado with Big, Chris and Froggy. Meanwhile, Eggman looses Sonic and as a last ditch attempt for power, launches a missile at Station Square. Tails is the only one nearby who can help, but will he be able to defuse the bomb in time?
