The Art of Art.

Whether there is an art in art depends upon whether there are such things as good art and bad art. There can be craftsmanship without art, where the results cause little or no communication and further no new ends - tantamount to 'stale manufacturing'.

We see a lot of 'artistic expression' at B.I.G. and rate all we see. However, we prize that which communicates the kernel of the artist's thinking. There is a procedure for appreciating art which, if you are sensible, is best written and performed in the inner sanctum of the mind. We figure that if you can whip up an audience that likes your work and gets something extra from the experience, you are in the game and a player! If you can prosper and earn your way you are winning - that's the "art"!

Consider these PIGMENTS, all sent for B.I.G.'s attention

An Installation :
A layer of pigmented plastic curtain hung in front of a steamed sheet of glass on which is projected the image of a window frame.

Pencil waste :

Pre-cell production work from

the animator's cutting room floor drawn to aid the communication process and add to the author's plot thus helping the film production team agree the best possible shots.

A Water colour :
The painting of an  unsupported structure of blocks in water-based pigment towering o'er the last fish in the 'pee yellow' ocean.

Digital Manipulation :
The e-mit of ever fluid 'Red Green Blue' light moved around with the use of a digital brush and captured at a freeze frame point with ink jets.

Technical Escape :
The vibrant colours of emotion from a technical draughtsman on throwing aside the constraints of U.K. building regulations to re-embrace the random rust and rustic in nature.

CAN  B.I.G. ?

Can we pick up on the Art of Art at B.I.G. ? . Yes, we think so. We have collectively seen hundreds of thousands of 'art-workings' and continue to be excited by the effusion of creative thoughts behind each true work of Art. So far as we know, no-one has slipped the work of a random chimpanzee hand in front of us ... so you can start preparing for April the first's 'poisson D'Avril and see if you catch us with our backs turned!

British creative thinkers can mix it. Britain has its peppered thus stirring history to thank for always being able to produce stuff that throws down new gauntlets to challenge the Planet.

B.I.G. knows that success is 'all in the mix' and we look forward to each new movement, each new creative avenue, each new leaf and each autumn leaf fall - all mulch the Set.
