STUDENT ORGANIZATION UNIT

A landmark was set this year when the Board of Trustees approved with BOT Resolution No. 256 series of 1999, the Policies and Guidelines for Student Organizations. The approval signaled the strengthening of the policies for the smooth supervision of the College and Campus wide student organizations. The college believes that the fundamental aim of acknowledging these organizations is to tap the potentials and abilities of the students in line with leadership skills and community service.

The Office of the Student Affairs is guiding and assisting all student organizations in their endeavor to explore the world of work of a leader. The College adhered to the belief that students can contribute to the development of not only the institution but also of the community. Hence, student leaders or organizations have the key role in uplifting the condition of the College to achieve its Mission and Vision.

Student organizations have been growing in number and are proving to be partners in the development of the College. They have been initiating various activities that are of great help to the College as well as the outside community. Some of the activities regularly conducted by the student organizations are:

  • Tree Planting in both campuses
  • Weekly Bible Service
  • Monthly Catholic Mass at the Zabali Campus
  • Participation on extension activities of the College
  • Adopt a Barangay Program (Cleaning of Streets),
  • Cleaning of the Public Market (Baler and Maria Aurora),
  • Assistance to the Minorities of the Province,
  • Participation in The Provincial Nutrition Month Celebration
  • Participation in the Municipal Town Fiestas (Maria Aurora and Baler - Parade and Programs)
  • Participation in the Provincial Foundation Day (Aurora Day)
  • Participation in the yearly "Alay Lakad" program
  • Symposia on various areas
  • Castration and Vaccination of Piglets in Brgy. Bazal , Maria Aurora, Aurora and other selected Barangays
  • Regular Convocations Held (Nutrition Month - July, Buwan ng Wika - August, August, Ecology Week - September, Statistics Month - October
  • Mass Work conducted in maintaining cleanliness of the campuses
  • Campus Week: Zabali, February 8-12, 1999. (  Each department had their share in putting up booths to show-of their  equipment, and products. There were parlor games initiated by the different student organizations.     
  • Hosted the 1st Congreswoman Bellaflor Angra- Castillo Invitational Tae-Kwon-Do Championship in March 27, 1999 at Baler Sports Complex
  • Yearly Acquaintance Party
  • Recognition Day – Service Award, ROTC Award, Excellence Award, etc./Recognition of Student Organizations - (Mass Induction of Officers)
  • Leadership Training for participants (Student Org. Leaders and Class Presidents)
  • Participation in the BATANG PINOY & PALARO NG BAYAN

GUIDANCE OFFICE

Guidance and Counseling

This office has conducted individual and group counseling to all ASCOT students and some faculty and staff. The guidance counselor has been responding to the needs of students referred to by faculty, staff, and guards in various situations. The cases commonly encountered include emotional and personal problems, misconduct, drunkenness, violations of school rules and code of conduct, financial, academic and family problems. On the average,there are 48 individual and 17 groups counseling conducted every year. Among the 48 individual cases, 20 are on academic problems, 12 on emotional, 10 on financial and 6 on personality awareness. Out of 17 group cases 7 are on emotional and 10 on family problems.

Testing, Admission & Placement Services

Another function of this office is to administer Entrance Examination for freshmen, Qualifying Examination for 3rd year Engineering students, Differential Aptitude Test for BSFT-4 students, Interest Test for BSEd and Psychological test among interested students. Table below shows the summary of number of tests administered by this office and passing pecentage of students (averaged from 1995 data to the present)..

Information Campaign

This office also conducts information campaign on the College curricular programs and its services generally promoting the programs of the College in different secondary schools in the province. In this activity, faculty members are also involved in visiting all the  8 towns of the province also including selected towns in nearby provinces such as Nueva Ecija, Isabela and Nueva Viscaya.

HEALTH SERVICES UNIT

ASCOT employs the services of a Medical Doctor and a Dentist to cater to the medical and dental needs of all students and personnel. Aside from issuing medical certificates, the Medical Doctor has been treating students mostly on viral infection and upper respiratory tract infection. The Dentist regularly treats students and faculty members alike. The Department Nurse is in charge with the implementation of college programs in consonance with the thrusts for a healthy studentry and college staff.. The summary of the health problems assisted by health unit is shown in the table.

STUDENT HOUSING UNIT

ASCOT has four (4) dormitories that house students in the Bazal campus. Each student housed in these dormitories pay a minimum of P50.00 per month for water, electricity and the use of facilities.
