FACULTY PROFILE

The College currently has a total of 43 regular faculty ranging from Instructor I to Professor VI. The gradual increase in number and educational attainment of the academic staff of ASCOT is a testament to its continued growth amidst the challenges of the changing times. It is inevitable that the College will have to address the mounting needs for academic personnel as it offers more courses and admits an increasing number of enrollees each school year. The current faculty distribution by department and gender is summarized in the following table

The 43 dedicated teaching workforce ismade up of 36 Instructors, 4 Assistant Professors, 1 Associate Professor and 2 Professors. It's distribution by rank and gender is summarized in the table below.

As shown in the following table, 43 of the teaching staff or 70% of the faculty members have permanent status of appointment. The rest are either substitute instructors or contractuals.

The next table shows a comparative data of total number of ASCOT faculty from 1994 to 2000. This clearly illustrates the growing number of academic staff of the College holding permanent/substitute/contractual positions. Not included in the table is the number of staff also involved in the delivery of instruction, one way or another, but are included in auxiliary services or projects.

As presented in the following table, majority of the teaching force of ASCOT had earned units in  Masteral degree programs, which shows the continued faculty development stance of the College tointensify the teaching competencies of each faculty member in order to effectively facilitate the delivery of instruction in the different curricular programs being offered

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT

With quality and improvement of instruction in mind instruction in mind, ASCOT has given its full attention to extensive staff development programs, providing scholarship grants to 22 out of 43 permanent faculty members as of September 2000.
