Her dreams were shattered When he left her side She had nowhere to run Nowhere to hide She sat in the cold Til' she was all cried out Her Ex didn't know What love was about The most painful thing Was that she trusted this guy But he turned against her And said Goodbye She was alone As they were now apart She was an Angel With a broken heart She stood on her feet And tried to move on But unfortunately She just wasn't that strong She had no Family Her parents were both dead She could still hear the screams Inside her head Her Mother was killed before her father took his life He'd used a gun on her Mom And with himself, used a knife She felt so lucky As she had escaped but she still kept so much pain Because she was raped She didn't turn for shelter From the storm Cos at the time She didn't know it was wrong She grew up believing that it was a way to show Love Until one day it hit her And she'd had enough No Family, No friends Her ex boyfriend had gone She couldn't find a way To carry on Things got so bad She didn't know what to do There was no one available For her to turn to Heartbroken Angel With a life so sad She chose to end it By copying her Dad A monument in memory Of her, was made It showed an Angel With an upturned face In her home town She stood on a hill Looking over everyone Was a statue so still Her name was engraved On the polished rock A broken heart That the world forgot |
: About this Poem :
I'd just split up with my longterm boyfriend and was feeling Heartbroken. I had the radio on and a song about a depressed girl came on which I listened to. I later combined my feelings and this song together to make Heartbroken Angel.
