Captain Rachel Garrett
Commanding Officer
Captain Garrett was the Captain of the Enterprise-C during the ship's final years. She was in command when the ship picked up a distress signal from the Klingon outpost at Narendra III in 2344. She responded to the signal and engaged the fleet of Romulan warbirds that were attacking the outpost. When the ship was pulled into a temporal rift and arrived 22 years in the future, Garrett was injured but was rescued by the Enterprise-D. Garrett was brought on board the Enterprise-D and was met by Captain Picard who informed her of what happened. Picard also convinced Garrett that it may be wise to consider returning back into the past, since the Enterprise-C may be a key in the outcome of the timeline. Garrett was unsure but finally agreed to return and sacrifice her ship and crew to restore the timeline and prevent a long war with the Klingon empire. Captain Garrett was killed in the future when a bird-of-prey attacked the damaged Enterprise-C and Enterprise-D.
Lieutenant Richard Castillo
Helm Officer
Castillo was the Enterprise's helm officer in 2344 when the ship was pulled into a temporal rift at Narendra III and ended up in the future. Castillo was one of the 100+ survivors on the ship and he was rescued by the Enterprise-D. Castillo spent a lot of time moving back and forth between the Enterprises C and D, working along side Tasha Yar. The two of them sparked a romantic interest and shared an intimate bond in the little time they spent together. When Captain Garrett was killed, Castillo was the only remaining senior officer alive, and he assumed command of the ship. Castillo was determined to return to the past and fight the Romulans, and took the ship back through the rift and defended the Klingons as history recorded it. It is unsure whether Castillo survived the attack or was killed by the Romulans.
Lieutenant Tasha Yar (alternate)
Tactical Officer
In the alternate future in which the Federation was still at war with the Klingon empire, Tasha Yar had not died and was serving as tactical officer on the Enterprise-D. Tasha discovered Lt. Castillo on the Enterprise-C when it came through the rift, and the two worked closely together on developing a defensive stragety and repairing the Enterprise-C defense and tactical systems. Tasha was frustrated by Guinan's attitude towards her, and sought answers. When Guinan told Tasha that she was supposed to have died, Tasha felt that she wanted to sacrifice herself in a way that would make a difference. She asked Picard for a transfer to the Enterprise-C since they were understaffed. She took her position as tactical officer on the C and went with the ship back into the past to fight their hopeless battle against the Romulans. Tasha survived the attack and was captured by the Romulans. She became the wife of a Romulan officer and gave birth to daughter Sela. When Tasha tried to escape years later, she was killed.
