One of the most important policy issues pursued by Sinn Fein is the full implementation of the Patten
Report on Northern policing. Because of years of collusion between the RUC and loyalist death squads,
Sinn Fein believes that the RUC as a force should be disbanded, and a new body which could have the confidence
of both sides of the community in the North, be formed. This photo shows a child holding up a poster
at a demonstration, hoping to ensure that when he is older, such a police force will be in place.
