Sinn Feins International brief falls into four distinct areas:
- Working with Governments and
international organisations, seeking their support to advance the search for Peace in Ireland
-
Developing links with Non Governmental Organisations ( NGO's ) and others campaigning for social and
economic justice throughout the world.
- Developing and promoting Sinn Fein policy on international
issues.
- Strengthening relations and sharing experiences with people in struggle, e.g. South
Africa.

Sinn Fein president meeting with American President, Bill Clinton. President Clinton was the first
President to take the historic step of allowing Gerry Adams a visitors visa, to put the Republican view
of the Northern situation to the American people. Throughout the Peace Process both men worked well together,
to find a lasting settlement in Ireland.

Sinn Fein believes that the first step towards reducing poverty, injustice, and equality in developing
countries is the comprehensive cancellation of of unpayable world debt. In this regard Sinn Fein supports
the Jubilee 2000 campaign.

As part of our work of ensuring continued support for the Peace Process, Sinn Fein has an office in
Washington DC which informs and updates the Congress and White House. We also work with Irish American
organisations who keep the issues of justice and freedom on the American political and media agendas.

Sinn Fein is committed to the maintenence of positive neutrality and an independent foreign policy both
in the context of a 26 county state and in a future United Ireland. We are in favour of positive
neutrality in action.
- Opposition to NATO's so called Partnership for Peace.
- Strengthening
our unique position on the international stage as a neutral state in Europe.
- Promoting European
and International security through a policy of disarmament and demilitarisation.

Sinn Fein has built up fratenal links with many struggles throughout the world. We activley campaigned
against Apartheid in South Africa and maintain strong links with the ruling African National Congress.
We support the Basque peoples right to national self determination, and campaign against the illegal
US blackade of Cuba

the crippling debts of the world's poorest nations, so that every child in the world can face into the
new millennium with hope of a better life.
