...InuYasha Episode Summaries...

Episode 131- The Scroll Picture of Kannon: Cursing Traps
A procession of village women bears a strange burden through the dark of night. Their torch lit trek ends at a riverbank where they drop their cargo, releasing the large, wrapped bundle into the dark water below. Down stream, an elderly wanderer watches the bizarre ceremony and, as the parcel floats by, sees a flayed human corpse slip out of the wrapping. Hysterical, the old man flees for his life. Later, the old man spins his tale of horror to Inu-Yasha and the team, declaring the village women ‘oni women.’ Although Miroku can’t sense any demons in the area, nor can Kagome sense a Shikon shard, the team decides to investigate the suspicious occurrence. Meanwhile, a wandering samurai is led to the village of ‘oni’ women by a young woman he met by the river. The unfortunate samurai discovers village hospitality carries a heavy price when he is drugged and imprisoned in a small temple. Inside the temple a ravenous demon drags the warrior to a grisly death. The samurai's murder by the temple demon sends a ripple of evil out into countryside. Miroku feels it’s dark vibration and the team travels towards the women’s village to investigate. On the way, they rescue a young man named Shinosuke who is also on his way to the same village. Shinosuke tells a story of star-crossed lovers separated by war, death and disappearance. While he was fighting the war his betrothed, Wakana, vanished without a trace. He travels to the village of women to seek his precious Wakana. Thrilled by the idea of a ladies only village, Miroku eagerly volunteers the team to accompany Shinosuke on his journey, but villagers find the group first, and invite them back to their settlement. At the village, the headwoman tells Shinosuke the woman he seeks is not there. Shinosuke is heartbroken but determined to continue his search. Kagome is touched by Shinosuke’s commitment and Sango is jealous about his devotion. Miroku hears Sango’s comment and walks away with a sigh. Inu-Yasha follows him, trying to talk about the rumored evil presence, but he’s cut short when he catches Miroku with his arms around a village girl. Although Inu-Yasha isn’t sensing anything, he definitely senses Sango’s anger when he’s caught between the angry demon slayter and the philandering monk! A timely invitation to stay from the village headwoman saves Miroku from Sango’s wrath. Miroku is delighted by their hospitality until he discovers the village accommodations are separate sleeping quarters for the men and women. Shinosuke and Miroku sigh over their disappointments aggravating their roommates, Shippo and Inu-Yasha. Shippo tries encouraging Miroku’s relationship with Sango and almost succeeds until the village girl Miroku was flirting with passes by, again. Alone in the girl’s dorm, Kagome prods Sango about Miroku, too. It’s pretty obvious to Kagome something romantic must have happened between her friends, but Sango denies, blushes and polishes her Hiraikotsu blade harder and harder. Kagome tells Sango that Miroku really loves her. Just when Sango is about to believe Kagome’s intuition, Kirara mews, drawing Sango’s attention to a tear in the old shoji screen wall. Through the hole, Sango spots Miroku with the amorous village girl. The rest of the night is sleepless for Sango and Kagome - Kagome frets about her friend’s love life; Sango is disturbed by a strange procession of village women in the middle of the night. Sango dons her armor and follows them, alone. Residents of the men’s area are equally restless; Miroku is out, Shinosuke took a while to sleep, and Inu-Yasha is roused by the odd smell of something wet and living. Going outside to investigate, he encounters Kagome. She tells Inu-Yasha about Sango’s pursuit of the village women and pair goes to investigate. In the men’s lodge, a nocturnal visitor awakens Shinosuke - it’s his fiancée Wakana. She’s living at the village after all, but this is no ordinary lover’s reunion, Wakana was dispatched by the “temple demon”. Miroku’s new friend seems to have the same mission, seducing the miscreant Miroku into the temple of doom. Embracing her, Miroku notices the woman is possessed. His discovery comes too late as the demon of the temple scroll reveals it’s evil intention and attacks. It wants skin -- Miroku’s skin! Meanwhile, Sango follows the villagers to the river where they disappear. Out of the depths, the villagers rise from the water, dragging Sango under. Inu-Yasha and Kagome arrive too late to help Sango, but just in time to be attacked by the village women, rising out of the water to battle. Sango awakes to discover she is shackled to a cave wall and face-to-face with the village headwoman. The woman reaches into a subterranean pool, harvesting an egg-like object. Looming over the captive Sango, the headwoman forces the egg to her lips. Her intention; make Sango one of them.

Episode 132- Miroku's Dangerous Confession
Some villagers appear in the beggining of the episode. They're trying to guard a house with a young girl and her parents inside it. A demon comes out of the sky with 2 helpers acompaning him. The villagers guarding the house all run off to hide from the sight of the monster. The demon uses his spear to create a shock wave that destroys the house and sends the parents flying across the ground. A sort of gold crown lands on the young girl's head and when she gets up, she has a look in her eyes that show she's in love. The demon takes here away. One villager gets very upset about this and goes to Kaede and the rest to see if they can help out and stop this demon. After a talk with Inuyasha and the rest, they decide to go out and find out what's going on. The villager brings the gang to a cave and tells them that this is where about 30 young girls are hiding from the demon. When they all enter the cave, they come flocking to the villager. Miroku sees this and he cant believe his eyes. Once he sees all the women he gets flustered with joy. He starts to talk to them and typical Miroku, asks a few to bear his child. Sango like usual gets pissed and wacks him on the head with her boomerang. After all the commotion is over with, they go off in search of the demon. They begin running towards something inside the cave and Inuyasha talks to Kagome about something. That something must of been something really stupid because she immediately sits him. When they enter a clearing they use Kagome as bait to lure the demon out ((Poor Kagome)). The demon comes and it turns out to be a boar demon ((As in pig demon)). Inuyasha and the others come out of hiding and talk to the demon. Inuyasha and Miroku start to think that it's stupid to fight this demon because it seems so weak. The demon overhears their little talk and gets very upset. He begins to throw crowns at Kagome ((The similar crowns that appeared at the beggining of the show)). Inuyasha gets her out of the way just in time, but yet one of the crowns land on his head. As expected, Inuyasha falls in love with the demon. Kagome gets upset and everyone tries to get the crown off. When they finally get it off, Inuyasha is just there wondering about what just happened because he has no idea. Miroku holds the crown in his hands and as usual, gets ideas. He begins to say something perverted about how to use the crown on Sango. Sango immediately hears what he's planning to do and takes the crown away from him. She tries to hit Miroku on the head with the crown, but accidentaly puts it on him instead. Miroku falls in love with the demon just like Inuyasha did. Everyone pry to take it off Miroku and succeed. The demon gets upset and gets another crown out, throwing it at Kagome again. She tries to dodge it, but the crown keeps flying around her and finally lands on her head. Now Kagome is in love with the demon. This really pisses Inuyasha off making him take out his Tetsusaiga and battles the cursid demon. The demon uses his spear and blocks the Tetsusaiga. They go on like this for a little until the demon retreats with Kagome to his house. Now Inuyasha is MORE pissed off. At the demon's house you see that he has about 20 girls with the crown things on each one of them. He sits down at a little thrown and drinks some drink with Kagome being right next to him, poring the liquid. Inuyasha and the others devise a plan to lure out the demon. They come up with having Shippou transform into a beautiful girl. The demon hears the now transformed Shippou's calling outside his house. He goes and sees who is calling him and is immediatly attracted to Shippou. Shippou has a hard time keeping the transformation though. Kagome comes out too to see where her lover is and what he is doing while Inuyasha is getting a scroll from Miroku that will send the demon away. Inuyasha sees Kagome and sneeks behind her to grab her bow and arrows, then goes for Kagome herself. Suddenly Shippou's transformation fails and he is himself again. The demon gets mad and when he sees inuyasha going for Kagome he gets even madder. Inuyasha takes off the crown and Kagome is back to normal. While this is going on Miroku and Sango are battling the demon. Inuyasha comes out of no where and faces the demon with the Tetsusaiga. The Kaze no Kuze appears around the demon's spear and Inuyasha does the same with his sword. While they're doing this Kagome puts the scroll from Miroku on one of her arows and aims for the demon. The demon turns around and sees this and starts to panic. He runs around in a circle a few times to try to avoid getting hit, but Kagome shoots him with the arrow anyway. The demon spins, is cast into the sky and dissapears. The gang saved everyone from the demon's spell. As they're bringing the 20 girls back to the village, Miroku turns around and asks them if one of them will bare his child. The girls get freaked out and think Miroku is like the previous demon with the crowns. The villager from the beggining of the show comes out and the girls flock to him. Miroku is all dissapointed.

Episode 133- The Woman Who Loved Sesshoumaru 1
We start the episode off with recap, just in case we forgot who Sesshoumaru is (hey, there's no such things as reruns in Japan, the series only runs once a week, and he hasn't been in it for ten episodes). Therefore, we REALLY start the episode off at the sea. Kagome likes the ocean. Inuyasha doesn't. Kagome throws a stick. Inuyasha fetches. He then proclaims that he isn't a dog. Sure, whatever. In this quaint little seaside town, a girl is dying. This would be Sara, the titular "woman who loved Sesshoumaru". She decides to play herself a funeral tune on her flute, but as she does so, Inuyasha walks by her house. She recognizes him! As that guy! With the thing! And then she dies. Oh well. Or... maybe not. A little while later, she appears before Sesshoumaru, flute and all. She informs him that she has the ability to make all his desires a reality. My, how foreward. Sessho doesn't buy it, so blows her off. So, how does she know Sesshoumaru? Well, immediately after he became an amputee, he wasn't feeling too happy, so wandered around causing random homicide for a while, muttering about Tessaiga. Sara thought this was pretty cool. Her dad didn't. So, in order to protect his daughter, he sent a bunch of riflemen after the already wounded dog. Sesshoumaru defeated them easily, deflecting all their bullets back at them with his glowy whip thingy that he hasn't used in ages. Later, Sara's father burned up in a fire, whether by his own hands or Sesshoumaru's hand, I have no idea. So, with this sort of not-so-tragic backstory out of the way (Sara didn't seem to care much about her dad), back to the present. A water god is attacking Sara's village. A girl who looks an awful lot like Sara, even though she just died, is tied to a rock as a sacrifice. Miroku and Sango rush in to save her... and get turned to glass! Whoops. Inuyasha defeats the water god, who turns out to be nothing but seaweed. Sara, under the false name of Umineko, tells Inuyasha that he must destroy the water god's shrine to break the glass spell. So, to the shrine. Inuyasha has to use Tessaiga to turn a stone to open the shrine. But, wouldn't ya know it, it was all a trap so that Sara could yoink Tessaiga. And so she does. She rides a giant crow and does a quick clothing change to look more evil. Conveniently, Sesshoumaru shows up at this point, saving Sara the trouble of looking for him. He blasts both Inuyasha AND Sara, even when Sara presents the coveted sword to him. Sessho ignores her again and just flies off. He returns to the tree where he had laid injured after he lost his arm, and where Sara first saw him. She relates to him the whole backstory thing that I stated above, but Sessho, of course, still doesn't care. It turns out that Sara pulled an Onigumo when she died, selling her soul to demons in order to regain life as one, and therefore be with her beloved Fluffy. Inuyasha shows up at that moment, lashing out at his brother and the she-thief. Sesshoumaru nails him with Toukijin, but Inuyasha retaliates with his Hijin Kessou attack. The attack misses Sesshoumaru, but slices one of Sara's hands off. Out of her injured arm come demons that ensnare Inuyasha. Surprisingly, Sesshoumaru intervenes! Apparently he's the only one allowed to pick on his little brother. He slices Sara in half, and she turns into an oni, spewing demons all over the place. Sesshoumaru hacks away at them, but to no avail. A sword like Toukijin, born of hate, can do nothing to this kind of demon. Well, good thing Tessaiga's there! Sesshoumaru grips the sword, which still rejects him with its barrier. He deals with it and draws the sword, anyway, willing it to transform this one instant. He pelts Sara with a Kaze no Kizu, slaying the demons within her. The sword then goes flying out of his hand, leaving a serious burn on his palm. Inuyasha reclaims his sword and finishes off the rest of the demons. Sesshoumaru kneels over the pile of dust that is the remains of Sara, and sticks the flute in it as a grave marker, telling her to continue playing that flute in the next world as well.

Episode 134- The Woman Who Loved Sesshoumaru 2
Okay, there's this chick, whose name is ... 'Sara'...and no, she's not Sesshoumaru's gupi who happened to travel into Sengoku Jidaii,Sorry. Sara's father was a lord that fought a war, and at that time Sesshoumaru's arm was cut off by Inuyasha. Sesshoumaru was quite pissed and bloody, especially after the people whom Sara's father was fighting against had pursued Sesshoumaru, and tried to kill him. Being pissed and feeling vengenful, Sess sliced through them like a knife though water, thus saving Sara's Father, and her. Sara then saw him...and obviously thought he was a least drop-dead hot. She then,...or was it before (I'm not sure) saw Sess wounded and moping, and saying that he wanted Tetssaiga. She died soon after, but before she did, demons like those that took over Onigumo, had taken over her, and she became...a hanyou (I suppose you could call her that). She tricked Inuyasha into giving over to her his sword. After he did, Sesshoumaru showed up and said that he didn't need any help... duhwith those looks who needs help!!!!!!!!! But Sara stole the sword anyways, and then she and Sess met up in the woods, her telling her story to him, and...I suppose telling of her affection for the demon Lord. Throughout her 7 minute speech, Sessoumaru stared into space, wistfully. The Inuyasha comes for his sword, and Sara's demons take over her, and she transforms into a scary-lookin'-demon-girl, Tetssaiga in her hand. Inuyasha attacks her, but Sess blcks it, saving her some. She makes an attack for Inuyasha...but...Sess BLOCKS the attack as well...he says something, probably having to do with 'This Sesshoumaru will/can not be helped'..ya know Basically he's being the 'mediator' between Inuyasha, and Sara. Interesting, but don't look too deep into it, it's not because he 'loves' them both. He just feels like two of his affair are battling each other, without himself being involved. Sess uses Toukijin to slice off the demon's arm that holds the Tetsaiga. At that point, Sara's face comes to him, placed on the demon's chest. I can only suspect that she says something of the sort: 'Please free me, Sessoumaru-sama' The Tetssaiga flies over to him, he takes it. Tetssaiga resists, but he holds on to it (all that demon training of his paying off (^_^)) He cuts through the demon easily, killing it, and leaving a pile of ashes with Sara's spitit drifting atop. Meanwhile Inuyasha gets his sword bck, battles off the remaining demons. Sess notes that his own hand, although red, still not as fried as it was when he first tried to take out Tetssaiga from their Father's grave. I think he might have understood that the will to protect humans tames the sword, and since he intended to set Sara free, it worked. Sara, through tears, tells him stuff (the kind of stuff that he bother to hear, considering his overboosted scale-wracking ego). Then her spirit fades away, leaving only the pile of ashes. Sesshoumaru is afcourse poker-face for the most part, except that when she tells him something in particular, his face either relaxes or strains...I'm not sure which exactly. He comes closer to the pile, kneels, takes the flute (the instrument that kept its appearance throughout the episode, I'm not sure of its significance but Sara plays it throughout the show). He takes the flute and sticks it into the pile of ash he leaves.

Episode 135- The Last Banquet of Miroku's Master
In a remote mountain temple, a solitary monk pours over scrolls on a stormy night. Unwelcome visitors -- Kagura and Naraku’s evil infant, interrupt his devotions. On a sunny hillside overlooking Kaede’s village, Inu-Yasha and the gang enjoy leisure time when Hachimon the Tanuki, Miroku’s vassal, arrives bearing terrible news. Mushin, Miroku‘s foster father and mentor, is gravely ill. Hachimon witnessed the old man having a terrible attack. Careless about his health, Miroku and Hachimon both fear Mushin’s end is coming soon! Miroku travels back to the temple of his youth accompanied by his friends. When they arrive, they find Mushin engaged in his favorite activity -- consuming mass quantities of sake. Asking about his health, Mushin replies he’ll be “happy when he’s dead” and staggers off drunkenly. Next morning the gang is quiet and reflective. The only one unmoved by the situation is Inu-Yasha, who can’t believe everyone is moping around. Although irritating, his comments inspire Miroku, Sango and Kagome -- rather than mourn Mushin after he’s dead, they decide to make Mushin happy before he dies. Over morning tea, the group offers their services to Mushin for whatever he wants them to do. Unable to resist the bargain, Mushin puts everyone to work, including a conscripted Inu-Yasha! The first chore is clean the temple. The next task is laundry. The third chore is entertaining: Mushin wants to have a banquet. Later, when Kagome recaps the things they’ve done for Mushin, he hints he’d like to have some very special sake to drink. The unique sake is distilled by yokai on a distant mountain. Mushin’s wish is Miroku’s command so Miroku and his companions set off to find the rare nectar. Their errand is plagued by doubt. Just as the trip seems pointless, Sango spots the mountain: if it’s real, so is the sake! Reaching the summit, the team is overwhelmed by a mysterious, demonic fog. Wary, Inu-Yasha warns everyone to be on guard. Anxiety and toxic smog smother the group, until Kagome shatters the tense silence by bursting into song. Her solo performance escalates into a trio when she is joined by Hachimon and Shippo (transformed into two more Kagomes). Perplexed, Miroku deduces that the fog is made from sake and everyone who breathes it becomes intoxicated. Sango then staggers out of the haze giggling madly, and stumbles purposefully towards Inu-Yasha. She flings her arms around him, flirting with him shamelessly. Inu-Yasha squirms pathetically trying to escape Sango’s clutches with no success as Miroku and the Kagome chorus line gawk in horror. Kagome finally regains enough of herself to hammer Inu-Yasha with a string of angry ‘sit‘ commands, adding injury to insult. Fed up with the nonsense, Miroku releases his Kazaana and sucks up the toxic fog. When the mist clears, the team spots five little yokai cowering behind a rock. The team has found the brewers of the demon sake. Miroku returns to the temple with Mushin’s prized sake. Enjoying his gift, Mushin and Miroku reminisce about the past. Miroku looks away, reflectively. When he looks back, Mushin is motionless, his eyes are closed and a cup of unfinished sake drops from his lifeless hand. Frantically, Miroku tries to revive the elder with no success. Miroku tearfully embraces his foster father -- until he hears Mushin’s soft snore. The old man is dead all right, dead drunk! Later, Miroku and company learn Mushin wasn’t dying after all: Hachimon saw an accident and jumped to the wrong conclusion! The good news is the old fellow has lots of life left: the bad news is everyone else did a lot of hard work! Back at the isolated monastery, the demon baby is probing the old monk’s heart. Like Inu-Yasha and his companions, Kagura and the infant also search for clues to the last Shikon fragment’s location.

Episode 136- The Bizarre Invisible Youkai Appears
Dinner is sparse: the usual meal of fish-on-a stick looks more like bait than the catch of the day Shippo’s hunger doesn’t get any sympathy from Inu-Yasha. He makes grabs the last fish off the fire and Shippo is left to feed only on his anger. Kagome remedies Shippo’s meal woes by sharing her fish, but the young kitsune is already plotting his revenge against his hanyo tormentor. Not far away, Haori, the elderly taijin is still working. A local village has engaged her to get rid of a demon who has been stealing their scrolls and documents. Next day, Inu-Yasha and company arrive at the same village. They discover Haori who is happier to see them, than they are to see her. She tells the crew about the demon she’s been hired to exterminate and once again, the cagey old girl invites them to collaborate on her extermination job. They reluctantly accept. Haori leads the team to the demon’s next target -- the village’s library, where the scrolls are kept. She selects her team, choosing Miroku, Sango and Kagome, however, Miroku and Kagome aren’t eager to participate so Miroku recommends Shippo and Sango for the job. Haori departs with her new assistants while Miroku, Kagome and Inu-Yasha enjoy a tea break. While Miroku chuckles over dodging the old taijin, but Kagome frets about Shippo’s safety. Haori and her team also have tea elsewhere, and discuss strategy for catching the scroll-snatching demon. The old lady and Shippo have an idea - it would be easier to catch the elusive demon while invisible. The old taijin and Shippo create an invisibility spell. Delighted with its success, Shippo and Sango decide to field test the newly discovered tool. Shippo is off to harass Inu-Yasha while Sango goes to find Miroku. The invisibility spell seems to work well -- on most people. However, Miroku’s flirtation with the local village girls turns horrible. Sensing something bad approaching, the lecherous monk turns to look behind him and spots a grim-faced Sango, wordlessly stalking him. She follows relentlessly, unaware that Miroku can see her despite the spell. Panicked and unable to endure Sango’s silent, frightening pursuit, Miroku falls to his knees begging her forgiveness. Sango panics just as badly when Miroku confesses he saw her the whole time. Meanwhile, Shippo arrives at the gang’s current lodgings. He makes silly faces at a baffled Kagome while she bathes, then locates Inu-Yasha, for his kitsune reign of terror. Shippo executes one terrible prank after another on the incredulous Inu-Yasha. Shippo presses his luck a bit too far and Inu-Yasha sends him flying across the yard. Seems a half-demon can also see through the invisibility spell. The field test was a failure but Haori and company will pursue the demon as planned. Nightfall. Haori and Sango stalk the elusive demon while Shippo keeps an invisible vigil over the scrolls in the library. Sango senses a weird presence, but Haori dismisses it and the two women continue their reconnaissance of the grounds. Shippo waits, terrified, inside the library. The only lamp blows out as a large, paper-doll like creature slips through the crack in the library door and ripples towards the scrolls. It stops before its treasure and plumps up into a huge, rotund humanoid demon. Ignoring Shippo, the big demon helps himself to piles of scrolls until Shippo, using fox magic, multiplies himself and swipes the scrolls back. Sango arrives in time to cut down the portly demon with the Hiraikotsu. Recognizing he’s in trouble, the mammoth demon deflates, turning back into a wispy, floating creature. The creature flies after Shippo, attempting to steal back the scrolls while Sango and Haori chase him like a runaway kite. Inu-Yasha arrives and grabs the fluttering creature, and prepares to put him out his misery. Haori stops him -- the demon can’t reveal the whereabouts of the stolen scrolls if he’s dead! In gratitude for sparing his life, the thief leads everyone to his cave and the stolen documents. He confesses that he just wanted to make sure the scrolls and documents were safe from harm. The demon promises he won’t steal any more scrolls. And, since he isn’t a threat to people, the team lets him go free. And a truce has been reached between Shippo and Inu-Yasha: they both agree the scroll demon left a lot to be desired as an opponent.

Episode 137- The Ancestor's Named is Kagome
I saw this episode raw (in Japanese with no subtitles)...so forgive me if anything is wrong. I know most of it is out of order, again I'm very sorry. This isn't exactly a summary, but it's an idea of what happens. Kagome is at school, and sees her name on Houjo's family tree. She goes back to the past, and meets up with Akitoki (remember him from the 2nd movie? He's Houjo's ancestor). He has a sword with him that has a great evil aura around it and when he unsheaths it Inuyasha goes into a trance-like state. Akitoki is definatly not the smartest or bravest of guys, and he has a huge crush on Kagome. She gives him alot of special attention, which makes Inuyasha very jelous and upset ^^ Now I'm very sorry, I had no idea what was going on around the begining of the episode. They end up travelling with Akitoki to who knows where. They stop to rest at a small hut. Kagome is filling her waterbottle and Inuyasha approaches. They begin to fight about something, and it ends with Inuyasha saying something about Humans and Hanyous. I believe this is sort of a sweet moment between the two. He storms off and Kagome chases him. A strange enemy who we see only in darkness causes a rockslide. Inuyasha uses a Kaze no Kizu to save the group and blasts all of the rocks to peices. Soon after that there is a ninja-like enemy flying on a kite over the group dropping explosives on them. Kagome shoots an arrow, and the strange enemy retreats. We see the group sitting by a river surrounded by rock walls. Akitoki tells them of two evil swords, that can merge and become one (So the evil sword Akitoki has is probably one of those). Kagome mumbles something and seems very worried. Suddenly Myoga (the flea) falls from the sky and tells the group something that seems very important regarding Totosai, and the evil sword Kaijinbou (sp?). Inuyasha gives a 'Keh' and it seems he doesn't care. We see another scene of the strange enemies, a pink glowing 'boss' tells something to a small group of ninja-type underlings. The group is camping at night. Suddenly many bombs are dropped. They start to run away, and Akitoki is caught in one of the blasts. Kagome runs to his side to help him, and she is caught in a blast as well. They are thrown off a cliff, and the episode ends with the pair falling into the abyss and Inuyasha calling out Kagome's name. In the preview for next episode we see Inuyasha fighting the greenish looking ninja enemies, and a happy looking Kagome riding on Akitoki's shoulders. Then we see Kagome leaning against a tree, and Akitoki about to kiss her!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Episode 138- Survival of Two People in Youkai Infested Lands
Four shadows streak through the trees and attack Inu-Yasha, Miroku and Sango, blocking their attempt to rescue Kagome and Akitoki Hojo. Frustrated, Inu-Yasha blows the four specters out of the trees using the Kaze no Kizu. Grounded, the four sinister creatures reveal themselves as Genbu, Byakko, Seiryuu and Suzaku. The evil quartet harasses Inu-Yasha and the others until their master arrives - a yokai named Hoshioni. While Inu-Yasha faces a new foe, Akitoki and Kagome flounder helplessly down the rapids of the river where they fell. Akitoki panics when he doesn't see Kagome in the torrent, and calls to her. She finally answers as the current washes her towards him. Akitoki pulls Kagome to the safety of his eager, waiting arms. Akitoki's romantic reveling ends abruptly when a log, driven by the white water, knocks him senseless, dislodging his grip on the bank. Both teens are swept back into the rapids and over a spectacular three-level waterfall. Hoshioni proves to be a formidable opponent, prepared to do whatever he must to obtain halberd Akitoki possesses. Dispatching his demonic thugs to find the halberd, Hoshioni turns his attention to Inu-Yasha. Inu-Yasha tells Miroku, Sango and Shippo to find Kagome before the bad guys do, and prepares to fight. As he engages Hoshioni, the yokai casts a spell on Inu-Yasha, paralyzing him in his tracks. Miroku, Sango and Shippo arrive at the falls fearing the worst, but are relieved to find Kagome's uniform scarf and nothing else. Others search, too. In the woods, Genbu, Suzaku, Seiryuu and Byakko look for clues to the halberd's whereabouts. By accident, they find a lost photograph of Kagome and her three friends. Recovered from their aquatic mishap, Akitoki and Kagome trek through the forest. Kagome's ankle is injured but Akitoki is deliriously happily to carry her on his back. Distracted and babbling cheerfully, Akitoki walks painfully into a low hanging tree branch. The situation compounds as a snake falls onto his head. Alarmed, Akitoki trips and slides down a hill and into a thicket of brush. Akitoki's string of disaster ends with a close encounter with a wild boar. Although Akitoki is lavish with his praise and chivalry, Kagome is conflicted. Akitoki is a nice guy, but he is awkward and uncomfortably fervent … but what about her name paired with his on the old scroll? Kagome recalls her confrontation with Inu-yasha: his problem with Akitoki wasn't his normal jealousy - he was hurt and afraid. Did she prefer to be with her own kind, like Akitoki? While Kagome searches her heart, the demonic foursome has located their target and hatches a plan to steal the halberd. Spell-bound, Inu-Yasha listens as Hoshioni reveals the reason for seeking the Hojo blade - he has the other half of the weapon and wants to make it whole. Inu-Yasha manages to break free and charge Hoshioni, but his attack has little effect. Back in the forest, Akitoki marvels at Kagome as she sleeps, and makes plans for their future together. Akitoki tries to steal a kiss from the sleeping girl, but he is thwarted by the arrival of three young ladies resembling Ari, Yuka and Ayumi, Kagome's friends from the photo. Kagome wakes and realizes something is wrong even though Akitoki thinks they've been saved. Kagome plays along and, while they travel through the woods, the three imposters ambush Kagome and Akitoki. Kagome dispatches the trio quickly, but the victory celebration is brief; Hoshioni's yokai thugs appear and kidnap her. Inu-Yasha's battle with Hoshioni ends explosively and Hoshioni disappears. Playtime is over -Hoshioni received word he has what he needs to get the halberd. No further need to stall. Unaware of this, Inu-Yasha pursues Hoshioni to finish the fight. On the way, he collides with Akitoki. When Inu-Yasha doesn't see Kagome, he grabs Akitoki demanding to know where she is. The answer isn't what Inu-Yasha wants to hear and, as Inu-Yasha prepares to brain Akitoki, Hoshioni interrupts. Inu-Yasha looks up and, to his horror and outrage, spots Hoshioni hovering above him, holding an unconscious Kagome.

Episode 139- The Big Duel at Rising Colds Fall
At the beginning, the scene shows Kagome being taken away by Hoshiyomi to the temple. Hojo (I think that's his name...) tells Inuyasha what happened and the group runs to the temple to save Kagome. Meanwhile, Hoshiyomi converses with his fellow evil-doers (^^), Genbu, Byakko, Seiryuu, and Suzaku, and these four youkais places their dibs who they're going to attack. Genbu choose to battle Inuyasha, Byakko chooses to battle with Miroku, Seiryuu chooses to battle with Sango, and Suzaku battles with Hojo (who he refers to as the "samurai"). During Inuyasha and companies' fiersome battles with the four youkais, Hoshiyomi creates a pentagram around Kagome and Kagome soon wakes up from her unconciousness. She asks what Hoshiyomi's planning to do, and Hoshiyomi tells her that he will rejoin the Halbred of Heaven and Earth. He also does notice Kagome's feelings for Inuyasha, and he tells her that humans and youkais, even half-youkais, are not meant to be together. Kagome realizes that Hoshiyomi had past experiences with a human woman before, and asks him about it. Hoshiyomi told Kagome about Tsukiyomi, a human woman/priestess, whom he used to love, until she sealed him in the temple that Kagome and him were currently in and then Tsukiyomi seperated his weapon, which was the Halbred of Heaven and Earth. Inuyasha and the gang finally gets rid of the four youkais by Miroku's Kazaana, even though they do not escape without difficulty or without injuries. Only Shippo and Hojo are the only ones who weren't really hurt badly. They run to the temple, hoping to save Kagome, but realizes that Hoshiyomi had already combined the Halbred of Heaven and Earth together, and had put Kagome's pristess power into the weapon. Kagome is unconcious again during this time. Hoshiyomi opens a big hole in the sky, attemting to suck Inuyasha and the others into that hole. Inuyasha finds out that Kagome will soon be sucked into that hole, and wants to save her.

Episode 140- Eternal Feelings! Halberd of the Heaven
As the sacred Furai Temple is sucked into a demonic vortex, Hoshioni barters Kagome’s life for possession of the Kenkon Naginata (the Halberd of Heaven and Earth). The Younin has been possessed by Kaijinbo’s evil weapon and will stop at nothing to keep the blade. Recognizing Hoshioni’s demonic threat, Inu-Yasha, Sango and Miroku attack with their remaining resources but are violently repelled by the powerful demon. When force fails, Akitoki pleads with the Younin for Kagome’s return, but is ignored. The boy only succeeds in enraging the Younin, stirring memories of betrayal at the hands of his human partner, Sukione. As Hoshioni prepares to unleash the destructive power of the complete naginata at Akitoki, he is thwarted by a huge swell of energy emanating from Kagome. As Kagome and Hoshioni separate in mid-air, the void in the sky shrinks and closes. Now afloat inside a globe of spirit energy, Kagome is possessed, taking on the Miko Sukione’s form and presence. Speaking thru her host, Sukione tries to reason with Hoshioni. We learn that once they were a couple: a human and Younin who fought evil yokai with their combined powers. Because they needed more power, Hoshioni commissioned the naginata from Kaijinbo. A regrettable decision which cost Hoshioni his relationship with Sukione and Sukione her life! Kaijinbo’s weapon drove Hoshioni mad with it’s evil, tapping into his yokai spirit, bringing forth the demonic side to his personality. Sukione sacrificed her life to seal Hoshioni and destroy the naginata by separating it, sealing half at Hakureizan and the other half at Mt. Fuji (near the Hojo clan). But Sukione’s death released Hoshioni from the sealing spell. Angered by her betrayal, Hoshioni searched to find and reunite the weapon. Sukione’s spirit presses him to surrender the evil weapon and destroy it before it’s too late. But Hoshioni refuses, slashing through Sukione’s barrier, breaking the spell and sending Kagome plunging helplessly earthward! Inu-Yasha catches Kagome and brings her safely to the ground. Holding Kagome, he tries frantically to revive her and, slowly, Kagome’s eyes open. Kagome attempts to negotiate with the Younin one last time, but Hoshioni’s reason has been stolen by the strong energy of the naginata. Hoshioni charges Kagome, poised to run her through with the naginata, but Inu-Yasha blocks him with Tetsusaiga, which has suddenly regained its power. While Akitoki tries to fight Hoshioni, Inu-Yasha and Kagome unite forces. Observing his two young opponents, Hoshioni sees himself and Sukione in Inu-Yasha and Kagome. Hoshioni strikes, but is defeated by a their joint attack -- Inu-Yasha’s Bakuryuuha and Kagome’s arrows. Dying, Hoshioni regains his sanity as Sukione returns to guide him to the spirit world. On the ground, the battle is over and an exhausted Kagome collapses. Inu-Yasha rushes to her, taking her in his arms as Akitoki watches, disappointed. He hasn’t got a chance with Kagome. Later, Inu-Yasha is depressed about the nature of human/demon relations. Although he doesn’t come out and say it, he’s afraid of his feelings towards Kagome, consumed by doubt and afraid of rejection because of what he is. The threat of Akitoki’s (human) rivalry and Hoshioni/Sukione’s painfully familiar story agonizingly at Inu-Yasha. Guessing the problem, Miroku, Sango and Shippo reassure him, pointing out Kagome has always been there for him, no matter what. Embarrassed, Kagome over-reacts and a lively round of arguments lift’s the mood! Akitoki sadly watches from a distance, and then quietly departs. On the lonesome road home, Akitoki encounters a lovely young lady of good family bearing a strong resemblance to Kagome, traveling with her chaperone. Akitoki turns on his charm, earning the young lady’s immediate interest. Meanwhile, back in modern Tokyo, Hojo sips a drink at “WacDonald’s”, pining over his family’s genealogy scroll. Eri, Ayumi and Yuka pop up, teasing Hojo about winning “his” Kagome. During the banter, Hojo’s soft drink spills onto the ancient scroll, blurring the ink and erasing the name of “Hojo Kagome” forever!

Episode 142- Out of Control Entei and Terrifying Hakudoushi
The show begins with a recap of the previous episode, Inuyasha and the gang battling Entei and Hakudoushi looking into the Enlightened One's heart for the border between the world of the living and the world of the afterlife. There's a recap of Kagura sitting with Hakudoushi as he comes back to life as an older child. Entei travels back to the cave where Rengokuki was sealed. He releases him, but before he can begin his reign of terror once more, Inuyasha finds the two. They battle, but as Inuyasha tries to kill him with Tetsuiga, him and Entei run off. Rengokuki and Entei come across this village and burn it to the ground. Kagura is there to get Hakudoushi a kimono that would fit him and runs into Rengokuki. He tries to hit on her and impress her with his power, but she blows it off. This pisses him off and he follows her all the way back to the cave where Hakudoushi is. She goes off to fight him. Hakudoushi shows up, kills Rengokuki without any real problem, and becomes the new master for Entei. Meanwhile, Inuyasha and company try to find clues that would lead them to Entei. He comes up with Hakudoushi on his back and Kagura in the background. They try fighting the three, but they're able to stave off any attacks with a barrier. Hakudoushi reveals that the last shard is in the world of the afterlife. Then they leave. Later, Kagome and Shippou are cooking when they're attacked by a decapitated youkai. Inuyasha, of course, kills him, but no one can figure out why it was headless when it came to attack. The episode switches over to Hakudoushi killing a youkai in the same manner and taking the head with him to some place in the sky. He's trying to figure out a vision of a place made of white fog just before he was sliced in half by the Enlightened One's powers. Preview for 143: Inuyasha and co. find another demon that was defeated in the same way by Hakudoushi. To try and save him, they search for his body.

Episode 143- 3000 Leagues in Search of Father
Earlier on, Naraku's offspring has been chopping of heads of youkais to gather information of the borderline between the 2 worlds and in this episode, Inuyasha and the group comes upon a girl who turns out to be an otter youkai (around shippo's age) whose father has been a victim too. She only has his head and is trying to look for his body to put it back together in hopes bringing him back. Feeling sympathetic towards her because he knows how it feels to lose a father, he volunteers Inuyasha to help her. Together, they all set out to look for his body. A village fight catches their attention and they go to investigate. They soon find his body in a desolated field not far off. Surprisingly, Sesshoumaru is next to him. Inuyasha demands to know why he is there, but as usual he does not care to answer. They try to piece the father back together, but it does not work. Kagome pleads and Shippo begs Sesshoumaru to wield his tesseiga, which can bring people back from the dead to save the father's life, but he refuses. But as he turns to walk away the tesseiga vibrates and pulses, telling him to save the dad's life. Feeling confused about why, Sesshoumaru does it anyway and soon the father's life is revived. Upon waking, he tells them of the place where his head had flown in when he had been dead. It was a place full of mist, other flying youkai heads and a big skeleton. This seems to be the place where the last shard is and it seems like Inuyasha has been in this place before too.

Episode 145- The Bizarre Gate Keepers at the Boundary between This and the Next Worlds
The episode starts out as a sweet "how Inuyasha and Kagome met" scene. She grabs lunch from her mother for the group, heads down the well with Inuyasha, and is greeted by everyone. They begin their journey out to the Fire Country, escorted by Naraku's poisonous bees. They head into meet Gozu and Mezu, the gatekeepers between the world of the living and the world beyond. They're nothing but huge statues. They ask if Inuyasha would like to enter. Despite Myouga's warnings, he tells them he does. This brings them to "life," so to speak. They're not really living, but they're not statues anymore. They're no trying to kill him, as the only way in the gate is to die at their hands. Inuyasha hits them with Kaze no Kizu, but it does no good. Neither does Miroku's kaazana. Worldly weapons cannot hurt them since they aren't from that world. Inuyasha continues to try, and ends up breaking the chain with Tessaiga. At this point the gates open, and Kagura comes flying by on a hoard of demons. Each one turns to stone, though, and she jumps off and out of the way. There's a bright light, and Kagome senses the final shard. Mezu and Gozu ask Kagura if she wants to go in, she tells them no and flees. The gates close and they turn back to stone. Kagura goes back to Hakudoushi, and angrily demands to know why he sent her there. He told her he'd heard a rumour that the gate turns youkai to stone, and he'd wanted to see if it was true. She slices him in half, but he hurts her heart for doing so and lazily puts himself back together. He warns her that him and Naraku are still connected in every way, so be careful. The episode ends at a campfire, with the group making sure what she'd seen was really the final shard. She confirms it, and the episode ends.

Episode 146- The Wild-Tempered Bird User, Princess Abi
Starts out with a recap of the last episode, the campfire scene where the group is making sure what Kagome had sensed was the final shard. Inuyasha and company continue their journey and come across a village. At first it appears empty, but they soon see the villagers, all dead. Their blood had been drained (the word for this is exsanguination, my "name," you prolly don't care but *I* thought it was cool). There's a cut to a scene of a village in flames, while thiefs complain about lack of things there for them. They see a strange flock of birds, but they are some sort of youkai and immediately attack them and drink their blood. The head of them, the Princess Abi, enters. Naraku joins in a moment later. We go to Naraku and Abi, though now at her cave. He lends her a staff made out of his bones (ick) to carry out a task. If she does this, he will give her blood to heal her poisoned mother. He kills off enemies of her mother, then leaves. Inuyasha and co. have been to several villages, but have come across one that has not been raided and pillaged. They promise to save them from the youkai. At night, the birds come. They destroy them, but only after the fire birds set their village on fire. The insects show up, along with a wicked mad Abi. She transforms and sends more birds after the villagers, but Inuyasha wipes them out with Kaze no Kizu. Him and Abi get into a very difficult, high-powered battle with her fire and his sword. He almost gets her, but the staff Naraku makes a barrier for her. She leaves. Naraku is watching the cave, then happily announces to Kanna and Kohaku that they'll soon have their path to the next world.

Episode 147- A Fateful Love Song Before We Meet 1
Kaede as young child is running up a grassy hill, reaching her older sister Kikyou, who is with Tsubaki. They're sharpening up their miko powers when a dark void opens up in the sky and many demons start attacking. Back to back, Tsubaki and Kikyou eliminate the youkai, while young Kaede watches behind a bolder, impressed by her sister's powers. The youkai are all eliminated, and their shattered body parts lay on the ground, both mikos watching over. A red spider with glowing red eyes watches the scene with interest from a far. The scene then switches to a giant youkai with one eye and two horns hunting down a hanyou. Inuyasha runs past a tree, jumping in the air and slicing the youkai down the middle. As Kikyou and Kaede leave Tsubaki's village, Kikyou notices that Tsubaki seems a little strange, as her eyes flash red. That night as Kikyou and Kaede make it back to their village the rain starts and they head inside. Soon the demon exterminators show up and hand Kikyou the polluted Shikon No Tama. She accepts it and Kaede watches in awe. The next day during the late afternoon Inuyasha encounters Kikyou for the first time. He hides up on a tree, with his back to her, watching her become exhausted by a recent youkai battle. Night approaches and Inuyasha turns human. She senses a presence and bluffs about attempting to scare whoever it is away with her words. The rain continues and thunder clasps, and as Kikyou makes her way to leave, she collapses on the ground. Inuyasha leaps off the tree and goes to investigate. He's about to lift her up when he hears some voices and torches can be seen in the distance. Kaede along with the worried villagers are out trying to find Kikyou. Inuyasha and Kikyou met for the fourth time (After she already pinned him twice and he saved Kaede from the centipede youkai), and they decide to exchange gifts. The night prior, Kikyou was praying over some beads (The actual Sit beads). They meet the next day and Inuyasha hands her a shell compact with red paint inside (It used to belong to his mother). Kikyou is very touched by this gift and can almost not take it. She reaches into her robe and take out the beads but decides not too. Time passes and seasons change and slowly these two lonely souls start to fall in love. Soon it is winter and Kikyou along with Inuyasha are walking through a blizzard when a wolf demon attacks. Kikyou shoots the beast with an arrow and Inuyasha attacks with his claws, followed by another arrow by Kikyou finishing off the beast. Young Kaede practicing her archery. She tries to concentrate, hitting the tree with little strength, while Kikyou watches. The miko explains to her younger sister that one has to concentrate very hard when stringing the arrow and releasing it. She does a small demo for Kaede, who is impressed and wants to be more and more like her big sister. The red spider sneaks into Onigumo's cave and makes him a proposition. Onigumo wanting the jewel and Kikyou accepts the offer and gets eaten by the spider and a hundred other youkai, thus becoming the bamboo suit wearing monkey we all hate. Now with his new body and new found powers of youkai control, Naraku goes to the edge of the village and commands the youkai to attack. The villagers along with Kikyou, Kaede, and Inuyasha all fend off the attacks, killing the youkai. Kikyou is distracted just as a youkai creeps up behind her, and Kaede shoots an arrow (With little power) and wards it off. The injuried youkai then comes after Kaede and Kikyou shoots an arrow at close range, destroying the monster. As the body parts fly, a piece hits Kaede in her eye. Kikyou watches wanting to help, but can't as more youkai surround them and she begins destroying them. The youkai battle continues until the next day. That afternoon, Kikyou and Inuyasha meet yet again and discuss the earlier events. Kikyou offers him a choice of using the Shikon No Tama to become human and Inuyasha accepts. They kiss on the boat dock and stay together until night, planning to meet the next day. Later that night, Kikyou in praying at the temple where the Shikon No Tama lays and "Inuyasha's" shadow calls to her (Naraku in disguise) changing the meeting place. Kikyou accepts and goes outside to see him, but he vanishes. Kikyou goes to meet "Inuyasha" to give him the jewel and she stops for a moment to take out the shell compact. She's about to apply the lipstick when she is attacked from behind and falls to the ground, the compact flying in midair and being caught by "Inuyasha." He crushes it and insults her calling her a "fool". Kikyou is crushed.

Episode 148- A Fateful Love Song Before We Meet 2
Well, that was a frightfully long break for the anime, complicated by the fact that this episode was unusually difficult to get ahold of once it had aired. But, it's all good now, so pardon the somewhat late review. Basically, this episode was "everything you already knew about Kikyou, we're just showing it to you explicitly and in order". So, it was more of a Kikyou character study, building on existing information and stretching it into an hour-long episode. So, did it work? ... Eh. It was certainly well-done, it's just... it was nothing new. It maybe satisfied a few curiosities, but other than that... The nice thing about this episode is that it'll probably make Kikyou-haters rethink their position on her (provided you can get them to sit through it). Basically, they were just shoving down our throats, "Oh, it's so sad, she's destined to do nothing but fight youkai her whole life and can never know love!" and stuff. Best Moment: The gift exchange. Inuyasha and Kikyou meet up with each other, and Inuyasha gives Kikyou a little shell compact that his mother used to use. Kikyou, on the other hand, was GOING to give Inuyasha the sit-beads, but thought better of it after he presented her with nifty girly stuff that she never got the chance to use. So, then Kikyou went home and proceeded to dance around singing "I Feel Pretty" while putting on make-up. No, not really. At least... not the first part. Kikyou in lipstick... just looks goofy. ^_^* Another cool thing about this episode is that it basically tied together almost every single Kikyou flashback throughout the series and put them into a continuous story. The Sesshoumaru special did that a little bit with the arm thing, but this episode just went all-out in explaining the flashbacks. Plus, we learn that Kaede lost her eye in a youkai attack, because Kikyou was busy zoning out somewhere and couldn't protect the village in time. It's actually a nice recurring theme in the episode that, while Kikyou starts out strong an unshakable, after she falls for Inuyasha, she begins to neglect her duties and bad things happen, proving exactly WHY she's not allowed to love. This episode also finally gave me the satisfaction of a new piece of BGM (we haven't had any new stuff since episode 125-ish). It was just a new mix of Kikyou's theme, with peaceful little "oooh" vocals like Kagome's theme tends to get. It also had a special ending, but the ending was basically just a clip show of everyone's introduction episodes, set to "Change the World", the first opening theme. And speaking of music, yeah, this was the episode where Tackey played a guest character: Shako, Sango's grandfather. He was in the episode maybe all of two minutes right towards the beginning, and all he did was beat on Mistress Centipede a little and get a chunk taken out of his shoulder. He also sounded way too young (which I kinda expected would happen). Anything else? Oh yeah, voices! Naraku was given a different voice in this episode, which confused me for a second before I realized that, yes, he is a shape-shifter and didn't have Kagewaki's body at that time. It was kinda cool how he'd remove his babboon pelt to reveal Inuyasha or Kikyou, whoever he was pretending to be at that time. And he even took care of that nice inconsistancy of how Inuyasha got the Shikon no Tama out of the shrine when Naraku had just stolen it from Kikyou (it's cuz Naraku PUT it there to trap Inuyasha ^_^). Oh, and Inu and Kikyou kiss in this episode. You are forewarned. Actually, I almost thought they were going to go further, since after the kiss scene, there was just a shot of the sky at night, and Kikyou's voice comes from offscreen saying, "Is it okay to do this?", and I was like O_O. Thankfully, when it panned down, they were just standing together, and "do this" referred to "seeing each other", not... um... "do this". -_-* Whell, that was a nice jaunt with filler, and while it was entirely unenlightening in the "new material" category, it did have a lot of "expanded material", which made it a nice episode (though it did run kinda slowly). But, we're back to canon next week, in which Kikyou returns for real! Sort of.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Episode 149- An Arrow Brewing Up Disturbance
Back to canon! And while Abi-hime's birds certainly littered the episode, Abi herself was strangely absent, aside from in the ridiculously long recap (hey, it's been a month and a half since the last canon episode, so I guess they can be forgiven). Maybe it's just because I'm coming right off the Spring Special and its stunning artwork, but the animation in this episode seemed a little... sub-par. Maybe they blew all their budget on the last episode. ^_^* Thankfully, there really wasn't a whole lot in this episode that really required good-looking animation, so I suppose it was okay in the end. Best Moment: Okay, I admit, I'm a Sesshou-minion fan, so the scene with Rin and Jaken just made me grin. "~Jaken-sama, Jaken-sama, why are you green?~". "How should I know?" And then Kagura showed up, looking for the dog-man himself, but he wasn't there, so she just left (much to the befuddlement of Rin and Jaken). She looked so sad when she couldn't find him! ^_^* Also, this week's episode gave us our eighth ending theme: "Brand-New World" by V6. The animation was basically a Inuyasha-group montage (with Kohaku randomly thrown in one shot o_O), and the song was... upbeat. Not quite as annoyingly perky as "Itazurana Kiss" was, and I'm still debating as to whether or not it's upbeat enough to be considered a mood-killer. But, there really isn't anything as grittingly angsty as the Kikyou death thing coming up, so I don't think it'll have any emotional scenes to jarringly snap us out of. ... Eh, I guess I'm just not a fan of peppy ending themes (the sole exception being "Dragon Half"

Episode 150- The Light that Leads to the Saint
It begins with Kagome giving a little brief flashback of last episode of how a mysterious purifying arrow pierces through Hakudoshi's barrier. It seems most likely that the arrow belongs to Kikyou but Inuyasha points out that it doesn't have any of Kikyou's scent. Miroku says that they didn't say anything and Inuyasha replies that that was what they were all thinking. lol. The villagers suddenly stated that it was probably Hijiri-sama's arrow. Then it shows Hijiri-sama and one of her little "girls" riding back to where the rest of the villagers are kept. Back to where the rest of the villagers are... the 2nd little girl of Hijiri-sama's is holding up a barrier and Princess Abi's birds are attacking it but aren't having any effect. Princess Abi summoned her birds to burst into flame and it actually fires up the barrier. A few villagers were scared of being burned alive so they ran out of the barrier and one ended up getting killed by the birds. The other villager was running away and that's when Hijiri-sama's purifying arrow shot through the air and killed all of Abi-Hime's birds. Back to the Inuyasha gang; they're in the process of going over to Hijiri-sama's town but when they arrived, Hijiri-sama had already left. Kagome asked the villagers where Hijiri-sama went and they told her that Hijiri-sama went to find and destroy the birds' nest. Kagome then asks Inuyasha if they should follow and Inuyasha has this depressed look and went off to think. Then the scene changes to night and Miroku + Sango are building a campfire and talking about the Kagome/Kikyou/Inuyasha issue. Sango suddenly has a mean look as she says that she wouldn't forgive Inuyasha but Kagome would. This is really funny. lol. The scene then changes back to Inuyasha + Kagome and Inuyasha points out that if Hijiri-sama was really Kikyou, then Naraku will come once again to take her life. They end their conversation with Inuyasha saying that they have to exterminate the birds' nest. Now the scene changes to a little hut where Kagura + Hakudoshi are at. Hakudoshi has a purple light around him as he rebuilds his body and Kagura realizes that Hakudoshi has his heart at a different location. Back in Kaede's village.. two villagers summoned Kaede because 2 shikigami (Hijiri-sama's) were rummaging around in the grave and took some burial dirt. The scene changes once again to Inuyasha's gang and they see some of Naraku's youkai and assumed the youkai are searching for Hijiri-sama. Inuyasha's gang asked some people nearby and they're told that two "glowing paths" went into the Forbidden Mountain. Then off they go into the mountain. While they were going into the direction of the mountain; Shippou points out that it seems like their goal has switched to meeting with Hijiri-sama and Miroku says that he shouldn't say that in front of Kagome; but Sango points out that Kagome probably already knows. As Kagome is off riding on Inuyasha's back, she seems something glittering and it's a waterfall. We get a closer look of the waterfall and see the two shikigami os Hijiri-sama's dump the burial soil into the water. Then they all see youkai heading through the Forbidden Mountain. Hijiri-sama's purifying arrow shoots through the air and kills some youkai. Some youkai went into the lower parts where the Inu-gang are at and they all start attacking it. Inuyasha tells the rest of the gang to take Kagome and he will take care of all these youkai. It seems like both Kagome and Miroku are wondering if it's okay for them to go on ahead and meet Hijiri-sama first. Inuyasha finishes off all the remaining youkai with a Kaze no Kizu and then started after the others only to run into Hijiri-sama herself. He demands to see her face and then the scene switches to the Inu-gang (minus Inuyasha) and more youkai are coming after them. Kagome seems some of Kikyou's Shinidamachuu and she runs after them. Miroku + Shippou run after her but Kagome disappears into a barrier. Then the scene changes to where Inuyasha and Hijiri-sama are at and he demands to know if she's Kikyou. Hijiri-sama's little shikigami are telling Inuyasha that a strong shouki has eaten away at Kikyou. He then runs at them and suddenly something cuts through Hijiri-sama and you can see Kikyou's head that disintegrates into little souls and then flying away. Inuyasha then sees the clothing and a little paper of a human shape slips out. Kagura in the meanwhile appears and she tells Inuyasha of what a pointless job she has been assigned to do and that Naraku thinks Hijiri-sama is Kikyou because the arrow that broke Hakudoshi's barrier had soil from Onigumo spread on it. Kagura then flies away and Inuyasha realizes that Hijiri-sama's 2 shikigami girls disappeared. Now it changes to Kagome running after Kikyou's soul stealers. She realizes that they are beckoning her and she follows them into where the waterfall is at. At the waterfall, Kagome then sees Kikyou in the water but unconscious. {Kochou & Asuka are the names of Kikyou's two shikigami girls. (you get to see that in the "Inuyasha's Jar" thingy)}

Episode 151- Kagome's Instinctive Choice
Naraku's second baby has found a place in an affluent shogun's castle. While his wife is bewildered and suspicious that the child is not her own, faintly recalling a strange girl bringing the child and a great tragedy surrounding the child's birth, the Lord is delighted and pleased with having a new "son" and heir. Kohaku, in turn, happens to be heading to that very same castle. He helps one of the Lord's retainers and for Kohaku's kindess, they offer him a job at the castle. He accepts. In the forest, Sango and Miroku are finishing off the last of the demons when Inuyasha returns. When he inquires about Kagome, they say that they think she saw Kikyo's soul collectors and when after them. Kagome entered a barrier and has since not returned. Inuyasha immediately sets off to find her. Kagome is safe within the barrier where the soul collectors have led her. The assistants of the Saint appear and show Kagome,Kikyo, laying unconscious and motionless at the bottom of a pool near the waterfall. They inform Kagome of Kikyo's near fatal encounter with Kikyo and how the priestess was poisoned by Naraku's miasma. They desperately ask that Kagome purify Kikyo's body as Kagome is the only one capable of doing so. Without a second thought, Kagome plunges into the miasma filled pool and attempts to save her rival. The assistants provide Kagome with Kikyo's burial soil to press into Kikyo's body, thus healing Kikyo's wounds and purifying her of the miasma. By healing Kikyo, Kagome unexpectedly experiences the priestess' memories. Emotionally struck by the tragedy behind Kikyo's death and Inuyasha's imprisonment into the sacred oak, she barely manages to complete healing Kikyo. As Kagome passes out, Kikyo awakens. When Kagome regains consciousness, Kikyo stands before her with her two assistants. Kikyo wants to know what Kagome would save her, considering it was her own choice. Kagome says that she did it instinctively, that because she was the only one who could help Kikyo, she did. Kikyo replies that since Kagome didn't believe she really had a choice, Kagome was really sincerely trying to save her and says that she won't thank Kagome for saving her life. Kikyo leaves, saying that Inuyasha is coming to look for her. As Kagome sits alone, contemplating her encounter with Kikyo, she grows angry. She thinks that it was all a test devised by Kikyo because of their romantic rivalry and feels hurt and exploited that Kikyo would do such a thing. As she becomes angrier and angrier, Inuyasha arrives and looks around the area. Kagome furiously tells him that Kikyo has gone; misinterpeting his relief that Kikyo is alive as happiness. Kagome's rage confuses Inuyasha, he is merely concerned about Kagome's well being. Losing her temper, she says hates him. Later, Miroku and Sango attempt to console a confused Inuyasha as Kagome sulks alone. She regrets what she said to Inuyasha and Inuyasha is (as usual) reluctant to apologize to Kagome. Kagome is convinced that Inuyasha must have a low opinion of her now, but looks up to see that he sitting right next to her. He asks cautiously if she still angry and Kagome asks if he will go after Kikyo. Inuyasha tells her of his encounter with the Saint and her fate and was only worried about Kikyo's condition. He satified that Kikyo is now fine and touched that Kagome willingly healed Kikyo, despite her feelings towards the priestess. Just as their conversation seems to be going smoothly, Inuyasha demands that Kagome take back saying that she hated him, feeling hurt that she would say something like that to him.

Episode 152- Protect and Plunder
Abi-Hime grows more suspicious of Naraku. She’s had nothing but trouble since they struck their deal and Abi-Hime wants out of the bargain. Abi-Hime’s mother suggests they strike at Naraku’s weakness. She knows he’s hiding something important to him at a nearby castle. Abi-Hime musters the flock and launches an attack on the palace. At the castle, the new baby receives tender attention from the court ladies. However, his “mother”, the Lady of the manor, is still dazed, confused and uncertain the child is really hers. Flashes of horrible events haunt her, and awful visions of his birth refuse to leave her head. The Lady spots a familiar face from her nightmare on the palace grounds - Kohaku. The Lady stops the boy to question him, but Kohaku’s new friend, the old man, provides an alibi - the boy arrived after the infant’s birth. Kohaku is not the only new face in the vicinity of the castle. Inu-Yasha and the team have arrived in the town near the palace. Miroku questions the locals all day about the demon birds without success. Since it’s late, the group decides to stay the night in town before continuing their search. At a remote mountain hideout, Kagura ponders a way to rid herself of Hakudoshi and Naraku. She watches as Abi-Hime passes by leading her flock. Evil little Hakudoshi interrupts Kagura’s musings by dispatching her to follow and spy on Abi-Hime. Tagging behind the advancing horde, Kagura watches as Abi-Hime orders her birds to destroy Naraku’s Saimyoushou: by doing so Abi-Hime proves she’s no ally of Naraku. Back at the castle and town, Kohaku and Sango spend a restless night. Kohaku has nightmares and, waking, confides to his elderly friend he’s lost his family. The old fellow reassures Kohaku and tells him that everyone who lives at the castle is like a family - he’s part of them now. Meanwhile Sango has poignant memories of Kohaku and the annihilation of their kin. Before either sibling has time to fully explore their feelings Abi-Hime attacks with her brood-thirsty birds. Kohaku’s exterminator training takes over as he cuts down the demons with chain and scythe. While battling the vicious creatures, Naraku calls to him, ordering him to protect the baby. Inu-Yasha and the team also rush to the castle’s defense. Enroute, Kagome senses the presence of a single Shikon shard: Kohaku must be the castle! Sango fears Kohaku may be under Naraku’s spell, complicating the situation. Sensing her concern, Inu-Yasha tells Sango to search for Kohaku when they reach the castle - he’ll take care Abi-Hime and the birds. Inu-Yasha hasn’t long to wait for Abi-Hime’s assault: she arrives with questions as well as a desire to fight. Abi-Hime asks Inu-Yasha why he’s protecting a castle special to Naraku when he’s supposed to be Naraku’s enemy. Her accusation is a surprise for Inu-Yasha and the others, as is Abi-Hime’s admission she isn’t partnered with Naraku. When Inu-Yasha tells Abi-Hime they intend to be the ones to destroy Naraku, Abi-Hime’s temper flares - her ego won’t allow any more orders from a mere half-breed - and she lashes out at Inu-Yasha with Naraku’s 3-pronged halberd. Above them, Kagura floats on her feather, keenly watching the fight. Inu-Yasha and Abi-Hime clash, Miroku, Kagome, Sango and the castle guards hack away at the demon birds. Kohaku successfully makes his way to the Lady’s chambers to rescue her and the baby. He leads them to safety through the inferno of the burning castle and an onslaught of ferocious demon birds. During the skirmish, one of the palace guards remarks that Kohaku fights like a demon exterminator. His comment resonates with the boy stirring up memories from his past, and Kohaku starts to remember who he was. As the castle falls and Kohaku begins to regain his memory, Naraku continues asserting his evil control over the boy. He beckons with chilling orders for Kohaku - kill those around him and take the baby.

Episode 153- The Destiny is a Cruel Reunion
Kohaku is protecting the Lady of the castle from Abi's birds, but Naraku tells him to kill everyone and take the baby (Akago) to safety. Kohaku swings kis chain weapon, and even as the guards thank him for saving them, he kills them. Naraku uses the Shikon shard Kohaku has to make him kill the Lady's protectors, but Kohaku asks 'Why must I kill these People?' The rest of the guards attack Kohaku, but he kills them too. Under Naraku's control, he makes his way towards the Lady, killing everyone in his way. He is splattered with blood. In his mind, he protests, but soon only the Lady is left alive. As Kohaku raises his weapon, teards start to flow from his eyes. The Lady senses his heart is being controlled by someone. At that moment, Sango arrives. Kohaku recognises her as 'that person.' Sango sees the corpses on the ground, and Kohaku covered in their blood, and realises what he's done. The Lady slips away, but Kanna appears takes the Lady's soul with her mirror, and takes the baby away. Kagura sees this, and recognises Akago as the other part of Hakudoshi. Saimyoushou (Naraku's insects) appear, and tell her to pick up Kohaku. Inuyasha and Abi-Hime continue their fight, with Inu unable to break through the barrier Naraku gave Abi. Kagome tries a holy arrow, but Abi nearly burns her (and panicked Shippo) with her fire. The birds gather near Abi, who says they have all the blood they need, and that there seemed to be nothing special about the castle after all. As she leaves, Inuyasha attacks, but is repelled again by the barrier and shouki. Abi escapes. Sango faces Kohaku, among the corpses. Sango says 'you've done it again,' and this makes Kohaku remember killing the other demon slayers, his father, and even Sango. He grabs his head in pain, Sango calls out to him, and he remembers her from in their village. Just as he realises who he is, Kagura appears and takes him away on her flying feather. Sango is anguished, having lost her brother again. Kohaku now remembers fully what he has done, killing his family, and many other innocents. He steps off the feather, falling towards the forest. In his mind, he sees himself hearing Naraku telling him to forget, and then sees himself attacking Sango, Rin, and many villagers, under Naraku's command. Kohaku screams in the pain of his recovered memory. Kagura catches him before he hits the ground, and as they fly away, Kohaku resolves to kill Naraku or die trying. Inu and gang catch up with Sango, and see the bodies of the people Kohaku killed. Sango says Kohaku left again, and wonders if she can save him after all he has done. Then, the door on a building breaks open, and the servants who worked with Kohaku come out, calling Kohaku's name. They tell Sango that Kohaku saved them from the youkai birds. Sango cries, as she realises that the real Kohaku must still be alive. Sango later tells Inuyasha and co. that she saw Akago, Naraku's baby, at the castle. Kagura also saw Akago, but Kohaku can't tell her why the baby was there. When they arrive at where Hakudoshi is, Kagura remembers how Akago and Hakudoshi grew from the halves of the original baby, and that Hakudoshi has no heart. She suddenly realises that Akago has Hakudoshi's heart, and that it must also be Naraku's human heart. Inuyasha and gang have decided to follow Abi, because even though she has betrayed Naraku, the human blood she's collecting must have something to do with Naraku's plan to travel to the last Shikon shard, in the 'boundary between this world and the next.' As they talk about this around a campfire, they see Sango sitting away from themwith Kirara, looking depressed, thinking about if she can save Kohaku. Miroku goes over to her to comfort her, and asks if there is anything he can do. Sango says 'just stay beside me.' Miroku does, and Sango leans against his shoulder. Inuyasha and Shippo are surprised Miroku isn't being his lecherous self. Kagome says Miroku isn't all bad. Inu wonders if you take the lecher out of Miroku, what do you have left? "Probably just the Kazanna" answers Shippo. Miroku, however, promises that he won't pat Sango's bottom (Wow Miroku, you can resist being a lecher, just this once). Naraku stands near the mountain that Abi and her mother (Tekkei) live at, and removes a barrier he put there to hide it. Tekkei is nearly better because of all the human blood, and says she expects Naraku to attack them now. Inuyasha smells the birds' nest now that it is revealed, but the two girls that are Kikyo's Shikigami appear, and invite Inu to see Kikyo.

Episode 154- The Demon that Links to the Other World
The day this episode came out, I was off visiting my parents on Kauai, so I actually didn't get to watch it at all until this morning before heading off to work. But yesterday, needless to say, what better way to kill a few hours in the airport and on the flight than to bring along a few Inuyasha manga and re-read this week's corresponding chapters? ^_^ So that's what I did. And then I proceeded to watch the anime once I got home... and I felt like I wanted to eat barbecued chicken for dinner. Yum! So all "Tekkei tastes like chicken" jokes aside... heh, after the awesome beauty of last week's Kohaku/Sango ANGST, this week was kind of one of those Nothing-Special-But-Nothing-Disappointing episodes. We had a little Inuyasha/Kikyou/Kagome angst, but no one can outangst the taijya siblings these days. This episode really DID blast by... o.O That being said, I think this review might end up being kinda short. XD Nothing particularly stood out for me, except maybe a few exchanges between Inu and Kikyou, and then the subsequent interaction between him and Kagome. Sango, Shippou, and Miroku are off chatting while Kagome sulks off on the side knowing her would-be boyfriend has once again wandered off chasing after Kikyou. These last few weeks, I seem to have become even more interesed than usual on the Kappei/Satsuki/Noriko line deliveries. This week, I have to admit, the anime threw me for a loop on how a few of the lines were interpreted, especially on the conversation leading up to Kikyou giving Inuyasha the arrow (it just flew by in the anime, I always pictured it as more intense), and Inuyasha's "She doesn't believe me, so she's upset..." line. Heh, poor Inu, when he realized Kagome still is suspicious of him and Kikyou, he looks so sad... Heh, I actually have more that I'm thinking regarding the way the anime seems to be interpreting this, but I'll shut up and save it for later if I ever get around to rambling. ^_^ Next up is Abi-hime and Tekkei. XD Meet the Giant Killer Chicken from Hell! (Yeah, that's actually literally one way of describing her) Sadly, I just could NOT take Tekkei seriously the second time around. I mean, how seriously CAN you take a chicken? XD Yes, she was very chickenlike, even moreso than I imagined in the manga. Heh-heh. I was actually expecting the anime to pull off another one of the "We make things go BIG BOOM! WOOHOO!" moments when it came to Tekkei's death, but they actually stayed practically image-for-image true to the manga. Tekkei gets a mean migraine and Naraku's tendril thingies come blasting out of her head! And... that's it. Leaving Abi-hime to freak out and attack him, and Naraku goes, "J00 SuuX0rz!" *slashkill* And... that's it.So that leads us up to what's going to happen in the next two weeks. The Nextworld Battle, Housenki, and KONGOUSOUHA!!!Speaking of... I honestly don't know if I really like the new "Angelus" opening theme yet, but at least there's an image of my beloved Kongousouha, and Inuyasha using the sparkly, shiney Diamond Tessaiga! RAWR! Can't wait!

Episode 155- The Devil That Guards the Shikon Shard
This episode opens with a recap of the last episode. So Naraku has just cut of Tekkei's head and a river of blood comes out. Naraku says that this is the way to the next world so Inuyasha and the gang follow the river of blood. We're taken to a scene where Sesshoumaru is walking towards where Tekkei and everyone else is when Kagura shows up and says that the entrance is closed, but she knows another way to get to the next world. Then we go back to Inuyasha and group going down the portal thing and they come out to find themselves at Inuyasha's fathers grave. Inuyasha and Kagome fly one of the birds while Sango, Miroku and Shippou follow. Inuyasha's eye where the black pearl was hidden starts to glow, he has a flashback of the time he was chasing his ball, ran to his mother and then when he was running from some youkai. Kagome gets Inuyasha to snap out of his falshback and then shards of kongouseki or Kagome says diamonds come shooting at them. The shards stop and the group flys in for a closer look. They find that Housenki who is a skull surrounded by the kongouseki has the shikon shard. Housenki is also the one who created the black pearl that was in inuyasha's eye. Inuyasha and Housenki talk and during the conversation Housenki says that the Shikon shards desire was to come to the place of the dead so that Naraku couldn't get his hands on it and corrupt it like all the other shards he possesed. Then Naraku makes the shard that Housenki has turn black, and Housenki becomes corrupted. Housenki attacks Inuyasha and in turn Inuyasha attacks Housenki. Inuyasha tries Kaze no Kizu but it doesn't work. He gets the same falshback again. Housenki attacks and Inuyasha tries another kaze no kizu but again it doesn't work, so inuyasha runs up housenki's body trying to get to the shard and housenki is shooting the kongouseki shards at him. So kagome tries to shoot one of her arrows but it doesn't do anything. Housenki's kongouseki cover up the part of his body where Kagome's arrow hit, so Inuyasha tells her to shoot another one, she does and he does a kaze no kizu. The kongouseki the surrounded the shard shatters and then Housenki knocks inuyasha across the face and he falls into the fog that's covering the place of the dead. The episode ends there.

Episode 156- Battle Before the Tomb! Sesshoumaru vs. Inuyasha
The scene descends upon a fiery mountainside as we see Kagura leading Sesshoumaru and Jaken towards the alternative entrance to the undead land. Jaken relays his doubts on Kagura's intentions. Tenseiga vibrates as if to warn Sesshoumaru of events to come. He is agitated by the sword's restlessness which Jaken mistakens as he being the source of irritation. Cautiously, he journey's onward into the cave led by Kagura. In the meantime, Kagome calls out to Inuyasha through the dense fog and we see Housenki sensing Naraku's presence through his black jewel. In the distance we see the rest of the team riding on Kirara approaching Kagome with an audible warning of Naraku's presence. Naraku prematurely claims Inuyasha's demise as he materializes. Kagome shoots one of her arrows on Naraku's bubble which clearly has no effect on it. As they get over their initial shock on how powerful Naraku's becoming, Naraku approaches Housenki to claim the Shikon he is guarding. Kagura is still leading Sesshoumaru and Jaken towards the gates, but before she gets in sight of the guardians, she reluctantly backs off. She mentions how she will not get involved any further and the 2 are on their own. Jaken is noticably upset and once again, Tenseiga pulses as if to warn it's master. Sesshoumaru proceeds towards the gates leading to the undead world. Kagura knows of the dangers, but her curiosity keeps her close by to see if her faith in Sesshoumaru is justified. Sesshoumaru is greeted by the guardians:Gozu and Mezu. The statues question their intentions and Jaken disturbingly claims that they want to pass through. The statues proceed to attack Sesshoumaru as they claim the only way to pass through is to be deceased. Sesshoumaru swipes at the statues and easily dodges their attack. As he lands near the gates, Tenseiga glows once again. The statues claim that nothing in this world could cut them, so when they felt Tenseiga's presence, the attack was promptly halted. They felt the power and knew it could harm them. Instead, they knelt in reverence of the power Sesshoumaru held within Tenseiga as they let him pass through. Kagura was impressed and realizes how Sesshoumaru might just be her way to freedom from Naraku's hold. Inuyasha has finally awaken and realizes how Naraku has appeared to claim the Shikon from Housenki. Naraku explains that the Shikon turned black because of Inuyasha's interference making it sound like he planned it all. As Naraku reaches for the shard, Inuyasha cuts his stretching tentacles before it reaches the Shikon. Inuyasha warns Naraku about his premature victory and proceeds to use the Red Tessaiga to attempt to knock Naraku out of his bubble. Kagome reflects on a time when that same technique was unable to cut through Hakudoushi's barrier. It fails to cut through. As Inuyasha was getting over the shock, he does another Kaze No Kizu. Naraku absorbs it again. Inuyasha does a Bakuryuuha in hopes of cutting through the bubble. As he wonders if it hits, he is impaled by Housenki's remains thrown at him by Naraku's tentacle. Inuyasha senses the tentacle reaching for the Shikon so he slices the tentacle therefore spilling Naraku's deadly poison gas. Surprisingly, we see Sesshoumaru throw an attack on Naraku which catches him off guard. Sesshoumaru then precedes towards Inuyasha who is recovering from bad gas. He punches Inuyasha for desecrating their father's grave, then promptly returns to Naraku's presence. The team along with Jaken joins Inuyasha by his father's grave. Shockingly, Housekin speaks to Inuyasha and questions if he still has some fight left in him even after the beating he took.
