Jim Snyder, WTOP-TV/WDVM (now WUSA) News Director from 1968-1977, died at the age of 76 in an Adamstown,Md. retirement home.  Mr. Snyder is credited for making Channel 9 a powerful force in the 1970s which lasted until the early 1990s.

WJLA will be the first television station to move out to the District.  They're new home will be in the new Rosslyn Twin Towers once Gannet moves to their new Tyson's headquarters.

DCRTV
is reporting that Dave Feldman has been upped to Sports Director.  Feldman, who was originally hired to replace Chick Hernandez, who will be anchoring the yet to be launched FOX Sports Net Mid-Atlantic Regional Sports Report on HTS.  Dave Feldman instantly became interim Sports Director after Brett Haber left for WCBS-TV in his native New York.  Since then, it has been Feldman and Diane Roberts filling sports duties.  No word yet on if Roberts will be permanent.

DCRTV is reporting that News4 Weekend Evening Weatherman Dave Jones has left WRC to run his own weather forecast service. He's been with 4 since the early 1990s. His last appearance on News4 was on 12/31.

Long-time DC TV news reporter Chris Gordon leaves his fulltime job at Channel 4 for the website, but he'll still be doing occasional law reports for 4 (Mondays and Wednesdays), as well as for other NBC stations and WMAL radio. Gordon, an attorney, used to work at WJLA News 7 and WUSA Eyewitness News. He then took a job with Court TV, before moving to 4. Jackie Benson took Gordon's spot on the fulltime staff of News4 as of yesterday. She has been part time at 4's news since leaving Channel 5 more than a year ago.
