The was wild when The Washington Star Newspaper owned TV 7. This was from a
Walter Liss, Jr. Package called "Part of Your Life." This theme was also
used in New York on WNBC-TV4. WJLA-TV
News7 1976-1980
They we're only name dropping in 1976 when financier Joseph L. Allbritton bought
WMAL-TV from The Washington Star. News7 was born and they started using the Liss
Package "Move Closer To Your World." This Package is still being used on
WPVI Action News in Philadelphia and WKBW-TV Eyewitness News in Buffalo.

News7 1980-1982
Leave it to Neil Diamond to be used in the less likely place. News7 started
using this theme on Election Day 1980. They a snippet of a song called "The African
Suite" and it came from album "Tap Root Manuscript."

News7 1982-1985
For three years, News7 used the theme from Frank Gari's "So Good To Turn
To!" package. They also used the station image up until 1984 when They adopted
thier trademark today "On Your Side." It was a 1984 Frank Gari package
that featured the silky voice of Jefferey Osborne singing the theme.

ABC 7 NEWS January 15, 2001-Present
ABC7 is using the Metropolis Package by Stephen Arnold. It is
currently used on WFLA-TV News Channel 8.
