The 5th edition of Les Étoiles de Ballet2000 will be held on 29 November 2008 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. The highlight of the evening will be the awarding of the “Irène Lidova Lifetime Achievement Prize” to Vladimir Vasiliev.

On the 13th of November the Royal Ballet presents "Infra", a world premiere from Wayne McGregor,
with music by Max Richter and designs by Julian Opie, the leading British contemporary artist
known for his figurative reductions and memorable imagery.

At the Bolshoi a series of productions and a gala will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the stage debuts
of Ekaterina Maximova (who is also celebrating her 70th birthday) and Vladimir Vasiliev.
On the 27th of October guests joining Bolshoi dancers are Carbone, Ould-Braham, Thibault,
Derevianko, Sorrentino and Picone.

On Sunday the 19th of October the Centre Cultural in Terrassa hosts the Gran Gala International 25 years of Dance.
The Artistic Director Renato Zanella invited dancers from St Petersburg, Kiev Berlin and Paris and the highlight will be Béjart's "Le chant du compagnon errant" for the couple Laurent Hilaire and Manuel Legris.

On the 3rd of October the Stuttgarter Ballett opens the 2008/2009 season with the premiere of "Hamlet"
choreographed by Kevin O'Day. The music is an original composition by John King.

On the 18th of September in the gala at the Palais Garnier in Paris the NYCB dancers will be joined by
Agnès Letestu as Terpsichore in Balanchine's "Apollo", Clairemarie Osta and Benjamin Pech in Balanchine's "Sonatine", Dorothée Gilbert, Mathieu Ganio and Mathias Heymann in Balanchine's "Symphony in C".

Two evenings with La Scala Ballet on Rai3 channel: the 25th of August and the 1st of September.
"Giselle" featuring Svetlana Zakharova and Roberto Bolle was recorded on April 6, 2005 while
"Midsummer Night's Dream" featuring Alessandra Ferri and Roberto Bolle was recorded last year.

On the 3th of July the Bolshoi presents Alexei Ratmansky‘s new version of The Flames of Paris, which was first choreografed by Vasily Vaynonen at the Bolshoi in 1933, with decor by Vladimir Dmitriev, and Yuri Fayer conducting; the lead roles were danced by Vakhtang Chabukiani and Marina Semyonova.

On the 23rd and 24th of May Shoko Nakamura, Ronald Savkovic, Friedemann Vogel, Paloma Herrera, Daniil Simkin, Roberta Marquez, Ilja Louwen, Leo Mujic, Mathias Heymann, Alina Cojocaru and Johan Kobborg will be part of the Nureyev 70 Year Anniversary Gala in Kazan, Russia.

On May 17th, Kenneth Greve dances with the Royal Danish Ballet for the last time before leaving to take over the Finnish National Ballet - he will be dancing Onegin in the last performance of the run of John Cranko's ballet.

From April 12 to April 19, 2008, the Bavarian State Ballet will present its annual Ballet Festival Week at the National Theatre in Munich. The festival opens with two creations, one by Martin Schläpfer, one by Simone Sandroni, a free-lance upcoming Italian choreographer who will create a new ballet to sonatas for violin and cembalo by Johann Sebastian Bach. The Terpsichore Gala VII, dedicated to the memory of John Cranko, will exclusively consist of works by this great choreographer.

On March 22 the schedule of the Mariinsky Festival has Evgenia Obraztsova and Vladimir Shklyarov dancing both the premiere of Vikharev's reconstruction of "Carnaval" as well as "Le Reveil de Flore", while Christopher Wheeldon's "For Four" will be danced by Andrian Fadeyev, Angel Corella, Mikhail Lobukhin, and Alexander Sergeyev.

Dresden SemperOper Ballett will present the world premiere of ‘Giselle’, the newest creation by
Choreographer David Dawson. The Opening Night will take place on Sunday, 9th March, 2008,
under the musical direction of David Coleman who has completely re-orchestrated and fully rearranged
the original music by Adolphe Adam.
