Ce soir au Métropole à Lausanne soirée de gala avec la participation de Laurent Hilaire et Manuel Legris, tous deux étoiles de l'Opéra de Paris.
C'est à ces deux artistes exceptionnels qu'il appartiendra de redonner vie à "Chant du compagnon errant" de Maurice Béjart.

20 years ago on the 3rd of December in Stuttgart was premiered "A streetcar named desire", ballet in two parts by John Neumeier based on the play by Tennessee Williams.
A revival is scheduled on January 10, 2004.

The Prix de Lausanne organises a Gala Evening on Friday at the Grand Theatre in Geneva when many former winners take part.
Among them are Carlos Acosta, José Martinez, Benjamin Millepied and Natalia Sologub.
Agnès Letestu, Manuel Legris and Gil Roman are also scheduled to dance.

On Thursday the Semper Opera House presents John Neumeiers version of the “Swan Lake´s” myth. In year 2000 the Ballet Dresden was the first company allowed to show John Neumeier´s choreography after he created it in 1976 for his ballet company in Hamburg.

A l'occasion du 100ème anniversaire de la naissance de George Balanchine, le Ballet de l'Opéra de Paris rend hommage à cet immense chorégraphe du XXe siècle.
La saison s'ouvre jeudi par une représentation exceptionnelle: le Défilé du Ballet et Tchaikovski-pas de deux précéderont cette première soirée consacrée au chorégraphe, disparu il y a 20 ans.

23 years ago on the 23rd of September La Scala Ballet performed for the first time Nureyev's "Don Quixote". Next November the production will be presented at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi as closing act marking the 10th anniversary of Nureyev's death.

Johan Kobborg, principal dancer with RB, can be seen at Queen Elizabeth Hall from Wednesday to Saturday.
The devised programme presents short classical ballets by the Danish choreographers Bournonville, Lander, Brandstrup and Flindt.

From Tuesday to Sunday NYCB brings "Balanchine 100: The Centennial Celebration" to Copenhagen, Denmark.
It spans Balanchine's vision of a new ballet repertory, which he built at NYCB from 1948 until his death in 1983.

On Wednesday NYCB brings "Balanchine 100: The Centennial Celebration" to audiences in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The most extensive celebration of its kind, it has been conceived by NYCB Ballet Master in Chief Peter Martins as an exhibition-style approach to Balanchine's life and work that will span his classical heritage and his vision of a new ballet repertory.

Carlos Acosta makes his choreographic debut on Tuesday with "Tocororo a Cuban tale" at Sadler's Wells. It tells the story of a young boy and his journey from the countryside to Havana.

Michael Corder's new piece for ENB, 'Melody on the Move', is unvelied on Tuesday at Sadler's Wells. Set to music from the heyday of British 'light' music from the BBC Home Service in the 1930s, '40s and '50s, it is a celebration in dance of a bygone era.

St Petersburg celebrates the tercentenary of its founding by Peter The Great in 1703. President Putin hosts an evening of performances of Russian ballet by the Kirov.
The Gala Performance will be broadcasted by ZDF on Friday and by BBC2 on Saturday.

Raymonda's new production by the Finnish National Ballet, realized by Anna-Marie Holmes and Kevin McKenzie, director of the ABT, will be premiered on May 10.
After its performances in Finland, it will be re-premiered by the ABT in New York one year later.

20 years ago on the 30th of April George Balanchine died. In his will he had left Suzanne Farrell "Tzigane" and "Don Quixote".
"Tzigane" will be danced by La Scala Ballet next June.

The Limpid Stream, the third ballet by Dmitry Shostakovich, dating from 1934-1935, will be premiered in a new choreography by Alexei Ratmansky on April 18 at the Bolshoi.

Balanchine’s "Apollo" was first danced by Nureyev at the ROH on 23 June 1971 with Svetlana Beriosova, Vergie Derman and Georgina Parkinson as his muses.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the death of this truly remarkable dancer, choreographer and ballet director, from Saturday the RB will open its tribute with "Apollo".

"Napoli" was first performed in Copenhagen 161 years ago on the 29th March, with the choreography of August Bournonville.
The most popular of Danish ballets will be danced again by the Royal Danish Ballet from the 11th April.

A cette occasion le Ballet National de l'Opéra de Bordeaux se produira dans deux programmes avec le NDT, le Béjart Ballet Lausanne, le Hamburg Ballett, le Stuttgart Ballet et les danseurs Irek Mukhamedov, Tamara Rojo, Igor Yebra et Carla Fracci.

Tonight in Paris will be held a gala in honour of Rudolf Nureyev who died on January 6th, 1993.
The Défilé of the Paris Opera Ballet and Paris Opera Dance School will be followed by extracts of his ballets and those he danced by the dancers he formed and inspired.

Balanchine's "Midsummer night's dream" was first performed in New York 41 years ago on the 17th January. 
A new production will be staged in Milan next May by La Scala Ballet, first European company ever dancing this choreography.

On Tuesday and Thursday the Nureyev Gala honoring both the dancer and the choreographer takes place in Vienna.
Extraits from his "Raymonda" and his "Swan lake" will be danced by the Vienna Opera Ballet and guests coming from Paris Opéra Ballet: Elisabeth Platel, Laetitia Pujol, Manuel Legris, Yann Saïz.
