Our village (2003-04)

Congratulations to our friends in St. James' National School who won the Green Flag Award . They have worked hard at recycling and all their efforts have been rewarded. We all realise that our environment is being damaged needlessly and we need more people to act in a responsible way in order to protect this planet for future generations.Well done ! Ms. Costin and some pupils from Scoil na Croise Naofa were present at the Green Flag ceremony on 17 October. We presented St. James' School with a card , made by us to commemorate the occasion and also a peace lily - a living symbol to represent the community's appreciation of their hard but worthwhile care for the local environment .

Stradbally welcomes Malta into the EU

Waste Management is a global issue.

We have kept the best till last - The Maltese Ambassador to Ireland -Mr. Richard Muscat - a skilled politician and his wife, who is a trained primary school teacher visited Waterford and presented one of our pupils with a Certificate of Merit in appreciation of his poster. Indeed a lot of our class posters were on display in the Greyfriars Exhibition Centre. Mr. Muscat spoke about Malta and its varied history . He said that the Maltese were a strong people who were very proud of their entry into the EU. He wished Ireland well with regards to having Irish accepted as an official language of the Union.

Here are some memories of that special day 26 April 2004.

And finally a visit to Scoil na Croise Naofa for an afternoon of tennis and fun by the students of St. James' Primary School. A great time was had by all and let us be certain that even though this was the first time it shall not be the last time our children will get together. Thanks to Ms. Heneberry and slán to Ms. Fitzgerald as she is moving on. Enjoy the summer of 2004.
