Sabu;

The Olympics started on 15 / 9 / 2000. In the Olympics 5000 metres race Sonia O Sullivan won a silver medal. Now she qualifies for the 10,000 metres race on the 25 / 9 / 2000 and xbroke the Irish Record for that distance. She came sixth.

Autumn

We made an Autumn Frieze. We put long strips of parper on the wall , then we used sponges to paint the paint for the background. When it was dry we used paintbrushes to do the trees and all that, when it was dry! We put a Christmas decoration as the sun, colourful paper clips for the hedgehog, real leaves for the leaves of the tree, paper designs for the flowers. Then we used glittery red paper for the apples , glittery purple paper forblackberries and last but not least we used green crepe paper for the grass.

Dinosaurs by Gizzmo

We made DINOSAURS  in school. One boy mad a terrain for the dinosaurs. He put a pool for swimming dinosaurs. A habitat is a dinosaurs home. A dinosaur can have a few babies because they are laid in eggs . We are going to have a dinosaur quiz.
I like Tyrannosaurus the best. An Allosaurus is 33 feet long. He is a meat eater and could move quickly.
The Stegasaurus has a brain the size of a wall nut. There is a fish type dinosaur and I don not like him. E know what they look like because we still have skeletons from them and some fossils too. I love their big teeth.

Art

Pablo Picasseo is a painter, well was a painter. He painted in cubes. And we saw musical instuments in the hiding in the painting.
Monet painted a painting called Waterlillies. It looked real. I guessed what it was called.
Renoir painted Boating Party but my favourite was Waterlillies . It looked like it was moving.

Sukko on School Rules

We have rules because we must take care of the School and the pupils. Pupils are strickly forbidden to leave the School and grounds without permission between 9:30 am and 3:10 pm. My favourite rule is the school is not responsible for articles lost, stolen or mislaid. The hardest rule is when we have to be in school on the right time. The rules are fair to everybody because they are fair to me. If you disobey the rules you will get punished.

Bulbs by Ninja

Miss usually brings bulbs into school in September but this year Rapter’s Mam bought a load of bulbs for all of us and a clay pot each too. We planted them in the pots and also in the window box on 17 October 2001. We got special soil in a bag for bulbs and we watered them then in the field because it would make the place messy. Last year we planted one in a glass jar and twelve days later we saw some roots. They grow first.We planted 38 anenomes, 11 narcissus, 20 crocuses ( mixed), 20 yellow crocuses, 20 irises and 30 muscari. We want to say go raibh míle maith agat Mamaí Rapter from all of us. The bulbs were suppose to grow by January but it is so mild we cannot stop them.

We had to go round the back way to get into town. After a few days they pulled the crane up again. There were railings going up around the place. The road was opened , The crane was ninety tonne. It was a very special event. It was on the news. Mxxxx is a hero. He jumped out of the cab and shouted to the men below. None were killed as a result. Ninja

One day I was cycling past Ballyvoile and the road was closed. I wondered what was happening? I looked through the railings and I saw a ninety tonne crane dangling in mid air above the cliff. For seven days it dangles there on the cliff. The men were doing a salvage operation on the stone wall below. Mxxxxx was lucky no one was hurt. The only thing that held it was the double jib. Rapter

It was a very windy day on the 15 January when a very tragic moment took place in Ballyvoile, Co. Waterford. There was a crane on a cliff. A man named Mxxxxx was driving the crane. Suddenly the crane started to fall. Mxxxx shouted down at his colleagues below to move out of the way. Quickly Mxxxx jumped out of the cab. The crane crashed to the ground.

The awful accident happened at Ballyvoile Strand. The crane fell on the 15 January when Mxxxx Kxxxx was in it. He jumped before it fell and saved the workers down below. Mxxxx owned the crane himself. It failed to be rescued / picked up with a 300 tonne crane and a 600 tonne crane picked it up on 21 January. Only for the double jib it would have fallen completely. . A good thing about a friend is sharing excitement because if he was quiet all the time he would be boring . A good thing about a generous friend is if your generous to him he will be generous to you . That’s a good friend and most friends have the same interests like football, soccer and hurling. A friend is helpful and caring . He should trust you if he is your friend and most friends are a good laugh .You should never cheat on your friends for toys or sweets. If you are rich every one will want to play with you but if you’re poor your real friend will play with you not for what you have but because they are your real friends. The secret of being a friend is to be a good one yourself. I have proof of that because I have good ones I’m sure you do too.

Problems children have ; Parents hiding goodies ; Solution ;Organise a search / Use a walkie Talkie / Eat a few and leave the rest

Eat a few from the bottom of the packet and celotape the end afterwards / Send Mammy on a wild-goose chase /Do a good deed and once they say what a wonderful child you are -ask for a treat then, at that moment by saying ‘ Do you know what I’d really like?’

Parents hogging the tv ; Solutions ; Save up and buy your own portable tv / pick out two programmes you really want to see and write down the time they are on at and then ASK!

Parents not bringing children on outings ; Solutions / Beg and pester ‘til they give in / put names of places into a jug and draw one out each weekend( this works really well for one family in the class already)

House work ; Solution Skip it and go OUT / Do it quickly, before you think about it.

Not being allowed to play indoors ; Solution get a teddy or a sponge ball

The League Championship 2002 by Gizmo

Our first match was Modeligo v Scoil na Croise Naofa The score was 2:5 to 6:2 respectively. Shane AAA broke his finger during the second half of this match. It was a victory but a loss of a vital player -the captain.
We lost against Carriglea in Bushy Park.

Our biggest victory was against Coolnasmear. The final score was Coolnasmear 2 points and Scoil na Croise Naofa 8 goals and 9 points.
We are in the semi- finals on the 23 May. If we lose this match we are out. We are playing either Clashmore , Kinsalebeg, Aglish or Ardmore. Good Luck to the team on Thursday! Go n-eirí libh a bhuachaillí.

Rapter writes about his letter from Mick McCarthy.

A couple of weeks ago I wrote to Mick McCarthy about the World Cup in Japan and Korea. I didn’t know his address but our helpful teacher knew someone who did! So I gave her the letter to post on to Mick McCarthy. Then a few weeks later, much to my surprise and delight, he wrote back to me . It was an official letter from him personally signed by himself. I was very happy and my teacher gave me a folder for it . My class were very happy too . The letter is now on my wall at home. I think it is going to be valuable in years to come. My Grandma thought it was great too.

My Rabbit.
Hi my name is Sukko. I got my Rabbit on the 13 of May. I am getting 3 more rabbits. I want to rear rabbits and sell them. If you want one come to L******n, Co. Waterford ,Ireland. Wait for about 5weeks until they’re ready……… 5 Euro for a small one 10 Euro for a big one.
