2004/2005 RBTT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPS

Dear Principal/Schools Chess Clubs,

The Jamaica Chess Federation is pleased to extend an invitation to you and your school to participate in the 2004/2005 National Schools Chess Championship, which is scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 28, 2004.

Each school will be allowed to enter as many teams as they would like. Each team must consist of four (4) main members plus any number of reserves. The entry fee for each team is J$2,000. Entry fees are due by Friday, October 22, 2004. Cheques should be made payable to the ‘Jamaica Chess Federation’.

To arrange for the handing in or collection of entry fees or any other query, please call Peter Myers, Vice President of the Jamaica Chess Federation, at 4255939, 9062604 or 9417955. Please leave a message if necessary.

Upon the receipt of a schools entry fee and issue of an official Jamaica Chess Federation Receipt, the school is automatically entered into the Championship. Entry fees should be accompanied by the name and contact information for an individual(s) who will be in charge of the schools team.

Schools are advised that this year’s tournament will follow a new format, which promises to add greater excitement for everyone. The document outlining the new format is attached.

This year’s Championship is once again being sponsored by RBTT Bank Jamaica Ltd. We are currently in negotiations with another Corporate entity for additional sponsorship, and as soon as this is finalized a further announcement will be made.
