1. When was the Jamaica Chess Federation first formed?

The Jamaica Chess Federation was first formed in 1969, and was Founded by Enos Grant on his return from England, where he studied Law.

2. Who was is the greatest Jamaican Chess Player of all time?

It is argued that Thomas Figeroa might have been the most talented, and might have arguabley been the greatest had he lived. Other really strong players have included Sheldon Wong and National masters Neil Fairclough Shane Matthews and Robert Wheeler.

Owing to his longevity, National Master Shane Matthews has made a strong claim to the title of the strongest player of all time by not only being the only player to achieve a rating of 2400 but also by reclaiming the National Championship title of 2002 and thus winning it for an unprecedented Six times.3. Who governs the JCF?

The affairs of the JCF are run by a 14 member Executive Council, elected by the Members of the JCF. The "Council" is comprised of Six Officers and 8 ordinary council members and they are guided by the JCF Constitution and its existing regulations and byelaws.
