Format:
6 Round Swiss


Saturday Approximate Schedule:

Registration: 8:30 am –9:30 am
Round 1 9:35am
Lunch 12:05pm
Round 2 12:45pm
Round 3 3:30pm

Sunday Approximate Schedule:

Round4:- 8:45am
Lunch:- 11:25am
Round 5:- 12:05pm
Round 6:- 2:50pm
Prize Giving:- 5:55pm

Time Limit:

Round 1: 1 hr to make the first 30 moves, 15 minutes to complete
Rounds 2-5: 1 hr to make the first 30 moves, 20 minutes to complete
Round 6: 1hr to make the first 30 moves, 30 minutes to complete

Special Entries:


Individuals may request a ½ point bye for any two of the first 4 rounds with the payment of their entry fee to authorized members of the Clarendon Chess Association, prior to the start of the tournament. ½ point byes allow a player to earn a ½ point for a round (up to a maximum of two) in which that player is not able to play.

All entrants who were under the age of 20 as at January 1, 2003 – J$300
All others J$500

Second Place – J$2500 + medal
Third Place – J$1500 + medal
Best Female – J$1000 + medal

Novice Section

Second Place – J$1500 + Medal
Third Place – J$1000 + Medal
Best Female – J$500 + Medal

Best Un-rated – J$500 + Medal

Prizes WILL be improved and/or other prizes added depending on number of entrants. The finalized prize list will be posted after lunch on the first day.


ACCOMODATIONS

Accommodations for those wishing to stay overnight in Clarendon:

Accommodations are available at the Versailes Hotel, 42 Longbridge Ave. May Pen. Follow the clear Versailes signs from the May Pen round about. See crude Map for indication of direction.

The standard room with a double bed (ie. One big bed) is J$2700. Two individuals may share this room. It comes with breakfast, Air conditioning, Hot and Cold Water and Cable.

The standard room with two beds is J$3300. Two individuals may share this room. It also comes with breakfast, Air conditioning, Hot and Cold Water and Cable.

The Tournament Director Peter Myers will be leaving Kingston at 6:30 am. If anyone wants to follow him at that please contact him via the contact info indicated below, to organize a meeting point. Others who wish to get a lift please indicate early to the tournament director so that seats can be reserved with the drivers who are going.

Directions:
Crude directions to the venue have been attached as another word document. Basically drive on the Old Harbour Bypass or go through Old Harbour. Drive straight until you reach the May Pen Roundabout. Do NOT turn right into May Pen unless you want to enjoy the May Pen traffic. Instead continue straight until you reach another major turnoff on the right. Turn right onto this road. Continue a little distance until you reach Glenmuir High on the left.
