SEPTEMBER 2005

I'm torn in half as I type this to announce that last night ( 15th September 2005) at near 10pm baby Angelina gave up the fight for life and went to kitty heaven. She had struggled to make sufficient weight gain throughout these near 3 weeks of her precious little life and last night seemed to have come to an end. My greatest grief is that Angelina went out with a BANG! not even 2 hours upon her death she posed for the camera and continuously showed growing strength and courage, this leaving me in pandemonium devastation as I come to terms of the turn around in such a short time. There are NO words to express the aching that I'm feeling and the pain but I want to thank you baby Angel for giving me the short few weeks of joy I had with you! I love you and mourn endlessly for you! Even though We here have taken a rough turn here at Vantana I have decided to allow Little Mia to continue to look forward to her Future at Shakandah birmans. I know Anne you didn't want to take her now with my loss but I know that Mia would be more then in Ore living with you and your kitties, she lost a sister but will be gaining many more, something at this stage I cannot give her as she's only got mum for now AND I know in my heart she will be going to the BEST HOME! Thank you my dearest friend for being on the phone to me for endless hours & all your words of encouragement and wisdom! Without you I would be lost right now! More Photos of Angelina will be placed on site soon, due to my upsetting state I just want to mourn her loss and cuddle her sister and mum, a past litters page will be added to my site in due course, where Angelina will have her very own page! Well as everyone knows It’s just over a week (11 days to be precise) since Vantana’s first litter was born and as a new time breeder I have to say I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs. Sleepless nights, tears and endless concerns.  Both babies were doing well in the first week and just in the past few days’ baby number 2 decided to cause me GREAT concern! I was finding that one was doubling her weight and the other got the point where she lost almost a gram and left me almost without positive hopes, counting every hour of her precious life. Endless hours on the Phone to Anne and rushing babies to the vet I was told that baby 2 has got herself a bronchial ammonia, however with our (Anne & Mine) quick action Roz our Vet said that she’s not as bad as she could be and put her on a course of baby ‘botics (antibiotics).  In the past 3 days from all the running around I have managed to build up a fever myself and to my great happiness baby is finally on the mend, eating, moving and gaining weight again slowly but surely.  With all the concerns I seem to have left a chain reaction of concerns…. Anne (who has guided me all the way and endlessly spent hours on the phone talking and convincing me all will be alright, to my mum who’s been worried about little Angel to Louise who’s also calling 6, 7 times a day.. & a whole chain reaction of concerns including calls from my dear friend Valerie from Scotland! Thank you ALL for your support right now I’ve needed it and would have been lost without it!  To more happiness the babies look like they are two blue girls, so far their eyes look like they both will have STUNNING BLUE EYES! & both look to be showing wee markings on their feet which is a bonus for both Anne & Myself! Both have now got their names! Both babies are taken. One is remaining here with me (wont need to guess who’ll that be) and my other darling baby is going to join the beautiful family of Shakandah Birmans with their other granny Anne Davis.  More photos of girls will be updated and news as times goes by! AUGUST 2005

In the late hours of Friday the 26th of August 2005, Bonbon decided it was time to become a first time mum by bringing her beautiful babies into this world. Contraction began at 9.38pm and baby number 1 found it's way out by 9.57pm, followed by baby number 2 at 10.50pm. Bonbon showed herself to be a wonderful mum and made this birthing very easy! As midwife I have to say I had my fair share of trembling moments and wiping dripping sweat off my face, but after 2 hours this joyous even was over. I cant begin to describe what a wonderful feeling this is to have delivered my OWN litter, to stand by Bonbon and work with her to bring 2 beautiful babies into this world. Baby 1 weighed 83grams & baby 2 77grams at birth, both are doing remarkable well! I have to Thank Anne Davis for being on the phone throughout the whole process, guiding & supporting me all the way. Anne you truly are the "Wind beneath my wings". In honor of you this litter I will name after you! Also in my thanks I must Thank my assistant midwife my mum, who flew down to my place to be an extra hand. Thank you mum I love you heaps! In my appreciation I would like to Thank ALL MY FRIENDS!! for your constant concern and congratulations on my first litter, but the one dear friend I can't forget in all this is Louise, you've spent endless hours and days calling me to see how Bonbon was before the litter and continued until this day to hear of my successes, thank you my darling I love you heaps and your care has meant SO much to me! Though it was a sleepless first night, I have already found that my wee babies have names themselves; Baby number 2 I have names after her Yodeling father Rianna and baby number 1 after Bonbon as she's quiet as a mouse, she's called Bonanna. Please note this club is ONLY for the buyers of the two prefixes and anyone who joins that isn't invited will simply be rejected! However We do encourage all Shakandah & Vantana Buyers to join our growing family! I am happy to announce that sash has settled into his new home where he and Maggie cat are the best of friends! Thank you Louise for taking my boy and giving him the next best home. Due to my limitations on how many cats I can keep I've had to re-home Sash and am happy to say that my dearest friend has taken him under her wing where I know he couldn't go to a better home!
