This is Bambi's link to her website. She calls me a 'wench'. Don't visit it.

Something funny..

I have became the top search on Google for 'yuna tidus love drama'. Check it out

Worst Days of My Life

I have the most worst week EVER.

Education process hangs in balance.

I am lagging in Chemistry yet AGAIN.

My Physics is always lagging, ever since umm. .. forever.

My Further Maths- ... let me tell you how bad it was.. We had a test today, and out of four questions, I did 2 questions. And one of them is wrong. I doubt if I can pass.

Taken for granted.

I was at a farewell party last Saturday and I met up with all my ex-schoolmates. Which was good.

Which was bad: My friend is leaving for Down Under. It so strange how you always taken for granted friends, you always expecting to be there.

It was just the five of us always hanging out together, sharing lame jokes (which is why no one ever wants to hang out with us) and now one of us is gone, well it is just not the same anymore. It's like - something missing.

Sigh.

Well, I wish you ( you know who you are ) the VERY VERY BEST IN THE FUTURE!!

As if that wasn't enough, ...

I think he likes another girl.

Big Clean-up Job

The effects from my basketball tournament are lingering. I now have this big pile of homework which would slowly disperse over the next few weeks.

Anyway, I will be probably taking the SAT 1 on this May, because I am most probably going to US. I have been doing those sample questions and I can't figure out why would anyone test you on the relationship between CURTAIN : ROD.

This week has been streSSful, no thanks to my parents. Everyday, I have to hear them nagging at me to study harder and be more responsible and stop using the computer on Friday (This was just now).

And I only use the computer, like once a week to update my website and do some other stuff. But NOoooo.. , they were pretty upset when I got my SPM results and now they are nagging at me to do VERY well for my A Levels.

I don't see why they can't pressure my brothers to do the same. My parents just make hell lot of excuse for them like

  • Boys are boys. They are innately lazy.
  • You are a girl. Girls are supposed to study harder, etc... etc...
  • You are more older, therefore more mature, therefore is more responsible.

Rocks, anyone? How about soils?

Geologists and geophysicists study the physical aspects and history of the earth. They identify and examine rocks ... Read more...

Local papers agree with experts on the disappointing latest Wheel of Time book.

I know you probably didn't listen to my advice to read the Star newspaper on Friday, the Section 2, so therefore,

Review of (okay, okay I didn't manage to finish Of Human Bondage by William Somerset Maugham in time to get the review done. Next week, I promise)

Anyway, here's another book I read before but haven't had the chance to review. ( My memory may be a little rusty.)

Review of The Chrysalids by John Wyndham.

Remember Village of the Damned? That ultra-spooky story with the golden-blonde children who can read minds?

Well, the movie was NOT based on this book. It was based on The Midwich Cuckoos. But the same author wrote it.

This story is set in the future, where nuclear wars have set the world back, and genetic mutations are rife. And since the human race likes to discriminate everything in sight, be it weird or different, that is why we have racism and supremism and genocide, mankind has discriminated those who look different ie. the radiation has altered them.

These human mutations are banished to the Fringes, and animal 'deviations' are never eaten. Early in his life, David Strorm makes friends with a girl, Sophie, only to later find out that she has six toes, a deviation.

Keep pure the image of man.

With this he wonders begins to question his society beliefs, and is confused over the 'true image of man . He learns more only to realize that his ability to communicate telephatically is a 'deviatation' and he begins to make a run for it, he and his telephatic friends.

And it is a very good book. Science fiction, with little adventure details.

READ SECTION 2 ON FRIDAY THE 14TH!

14 March 2003,10:06p.m   spoil me =)

Tired but richer by errr.., RM 5 ($1.32)

I had a basketball tournament throughout yesterday and today.

I won. Did you ever doubt me?

Okay, okay, so we got runner-up place. And after minusing our registration fee and dividing up the money between players, I got a grand total of... TADADADA .. RM 5 or $ 1.32.

Hah, now I can turn professional. Also, let us not forget, I manage to show off in front of all guys there.

They even know me. They kept cheering for "Number 6" ( That was me) or "Green" ( That was my team colour)

Hey, I am popular now.

Yes, I will cut the crap.

Bambi was in my team but she pouted and pouted and finally pulled out and I had to go and find replacements. Silly woman. Hope she reads this.

I am a good girl. I will not think BADLY of other people. I will not think BADLY of other people.

Anyway, there was another girl in my team, and she was formerly from my school. I will not name names.

She didn't come for the practice because she said she 'overslept', and she didn't call to tell me that, and just left me WAITING and WAITING.

And before the tournament began, I was so scared that she will pull out, so I sent SMS messages to her, reminding her..

Guess what? She DID pull out. And not even a note/message/call/SMS to tell me. NO . NADA . NOTHING.

I would say the b***h word here, but this is a family page.

Kidding.

Tons of homework piling up on table. Experts sense potential safety hazard.

I was quite busy this week, what with the basketball tournament and all. Also, I forgot to do my homework for LAST weekend.

So, since the only book I read was the one I had to read for my upcoming Further Maths test, here goes...

Review of Further Pure Mathematics by Bostock and Chandler.

REALLY kidding.

-sparky flower- (modestly says that she) was a er, good, player in the tournament. Best, in fact.

"We shouldn't live as if it mattered more than life in this world, because where we are is always the most important place." - The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman

"We have to build the republic of heaven where we are, because for us there is no elsewhere." -The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman

I know someone, for the sake of discussion let's call her erm, Britney ( Why Britney? Cos I don't like Britney Spears) Well, anyway, Britney has this holier-than-thou attitude. She is deeply 'religious' and goes to church as often as she changes her underwear. She prays regularly and goes for all those many many church activites.

She even raises funds for charities. Sometimes, she skips her studies and she spends almost all of her time doing them. She is to totally consicous of the Ten Commandments.

And yet, she does all this so she says that she can go to heaven later. Not because she sincerely wants to help others, but because she thinks that she will get something out from it.

That would be okay if it wasn't for the fact that she is extremely unhelpful. Very very very extremely totally unhelpful. And critical of others. Like she would just sit at one corner critisizing others, yet never bothering to help. She never bothers being nice

I hate people like that. There are many I know that does things like that, like doing something just because they think they are going to get a reward for it.

Perhaps that's why the concept of heaven exists. Maybe it's because people in general cannot stand the idea of not recieving their just payment, their rewards.

Without the concept of an afterlife, let's say we knew that we just no longer exist , well, a lot of people would lose their purpose in life. Perhaps it is just as well an idea of afterlife exists, so that most can keep their sanity.

Religion is just an easy way out to explain life's great mysteries. It also helps us put us OUT of perspective. We all are after all, a small speck of dust on a huge world in an infinite universe. Compared to that, all our achievements would seem like ... nothing. Zero. Nada.

So people use religion so that they won't have to think for themselves. I am not against religion. If it helps one be a better person, well, I am all for it.

But when people use religion so that they don't have to think for themselves about good and evil, the meaning of life, how big is this universe after all, then it's wrong.

It goes against everything humans stand for, thinking sentient beings. If we don't think for ourselves, why, we will just be another species of hairless upright apes.

The Wheel of Time sinks to new lows. Stock prices dropping rapidly. Investors advised to drop shares.

Review of The Crossroads of Twilight (Book Ten of the Wheel of Time) by Robert Jordan

( WARNING: Do not attempt to read from Book Ten. Instead start from Book One - The Eye of the World)

I love the Wheel of Time, in fact Jordan is my favourite authors on my list. However this does not excuse what Jordan has done to CoT (Crossworads of Twilight) i.e. made crap out of it/ spoiled it.

This is the most horrible WoT book I have ever came across after that misery which was named the Path of Daggers (Book 8). I didn't even bother to read the book twice.

See, I judge a book by the number of times I re-read it. Normally, I read most books twice.

The ending has the only REAL plot advancement, whereas the others are boring parts of an over-extended Prologue. If I hear just ONE more time how Elayne has to drink goat's milk , I am gonna scream.

There is absolutely nothing to review, don't bother buying it. If you want, I can send you an email in one line that summarizes the whole book.

Don't get me wrong. The Wheel of Time is an epic fantasy which is really beautiful and captivating. I probably read The Eye of the World (Book 1) gazillion times.

You know, in Macbeth there is a scene which is generally not considered to be written by Shakespeare because:

1. It adds nothing (no plot advancement) to the fast-moving story
2. It is insignificant.

Well, that probably describes the Wheel of Time. Maybe, in the future, people are gonna praise Jordan as a great writer, and make excuses for him, that he probably didn't write the terrible Book 7, 8 and 10.

-sparky flower- has yet to update her wish list

2 March 2003,4:13p.m   spoil me =)

I Have A Dream

I plan to study at MIT. However, there are some minor small insignificant problems.

  • I need RM 400 000 ( $100 000).
  • I need better grades.
  • I need more nail polish to match my winter clothes.

As you can see, the last problem is probably the hardest to solve.

  • To get money, I just need a sponsor. Everyone has a sponsor nowadays. For example, Paula Radcliff has a sponsor, Venus Williams has a sponsor, David Beckham has a sponsor, Kobe Bryant has a sponsor. They don't even look attractive ( with the exception of Beckham)
  • Or Icould strike a lottery. RM 3 million, my problem settled!
  • I could try to study.

I mean, how could you possibly find so many colours to match your clothes? Gasp! Not only would I have to find nail polish, I would have to look for lipsticks, mascara, eyeshadow and so on..
