i am not gonna update until January, b'cos, i have this important, important exam coming up, then after that is camps and holidays.

and, anyway, i want to concentrate on my running. i hope to break into the top 10 in local 5K to 10K meets, so my schedule would be very full. the thought of prize money appeals greatly to me.

so, hope to see you in Jan? sigh, most people would probably forget about this site long before.

review of 'Moving Pictures' by Terry Pratchett

well, we have no familiar characters here, none that i know anyway. Mr. Terry usually repeats his characters, so that we can usually bond with them. For example, Death, the Patrician, Carrot and the Watch ( Commander Vimes, Nobby) , Rincewind and the wizards (Ridcully, Archancellor) and the witches, okay, let's be fair, he did mention Nobby and some of the wizards somewhere...

i didn't know the Bursar was sane here? wonder in which book he went all cuckoo....

anyway, erm, in this story, we see Holy Wood, a parody of Hollywood, coming into existense. only, this upsets the fabric of reality and causes destruction, so you know the rest, someone saves world.

of course, if Mr. Terry didn't elaborate, his book would be short as the paragraph above. What I like about his books is that Mr. Terry portrays real life in a very hilarious manner, and it gets you up in stitches and ROTFL.

however, i didn't see any issues brought up in this story, like in 'Feet of Clay', he brought up slavery, or 'Men At Arms', where he includes race discrimination, which are thought-provoking and doesn't leave you sleeping like philosophy books.
