Born in 1986, Lana Elizabeth Lang, born of Lewis and Laura Lang, is yet another Smallville resident. When she was three years old, the Meteor Shower of 1989 hit Smallville killing her parents. The Meteor Shower of 2005 brought painful memories back to her and almost caused her own death. 

She is determined, strong, and compassionate when she needs to be. She yearns for honesty, especially from her unrequited love, Clark Kent. However, she is honest with others when it suits her own ambition.

Her real struggle is to find her place in the world. She wants to do good and be the best that she can be. However, she always gets wrapped up in some guy, currently being Lex Luthor. Slowly, Lana begins to fall into Lex's dark world of lies and deceit.

Her residence changes numerous times throughout the series. In the first and second seasons, she lives with her aunt, Nell. However, Lana moves in with Chloe Sullivan, her best friend, when Nell meets and falls in love with Dean and then moves to Metropolis with him. Later she moves into the apartment above the Talon. Following the Talon, she dorms with Chloe in Metropolis University where she resides until she moves in with Lex.
