Yuugi Motou ~ Main character (unfortunately) of Yu-Gi-Oh, he is a high school student who harbors the soul of a 3,000 year old pharaoh. He finds the puzzle from his grandfather, it is said that who ever solves the puzzle inherits tremendous power and is granted one wish. He wishes for friends. King of games�.bla bla bla, your not here for him, you�re here for Marik and them, so you shouldn�t really care ~.^
Yami/Atem/the pharaoh ~ A 3,000 (though often it is said 5,000) year old spirit of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh. He was trapped in the millennium puzzle and freed by Yuugi. He is the real king of games, he is the one who actually wins all of the games.
Tea Gardener/Anzu Mazaki ~ One of Yuugi�s best friends, has a large crush on Yami. Pretty much the annoying cheer leader of the group, always has a friendship speech ready -.- Really just follows Yami around- she is of no real use.
Seto Kaiba ~ A rival of Yuugi, always trying to beat him. He is the CEO of Kaiba Corp. and hosted Battle City where we first meet Marik (^-^) In a previous he was the head priest, serving under Yami.
Joey Weeler/Jounouchi Katsuya ~ Yuugi�s best friend, average duelist with a hell of a lot of luck. Really hates Kaiba.
Tristan Taylor/Honda Hiroto ~ Another one of Yuugi�s friends, not a duelist, just rather tags along, but is much more tolerable then Anzu.
Sugoroku Motou~ Yuugi�s grandpa, he found the puzzle when he was an archeologist.
Isis Ishtar/Ishizu~ Malik�s sister, holds the millennium taulk/necklace. Enters Battle City in an attempt to stop her brother.
Odion/Rishid~ Malik�s �brother�, he was adopted into the Ishtar family when they thought that Malik�s mother wouldn�t bear a son. After Rishid is almost killed by his �father� and Malik sees it Marik emerges. Rishid is able to block Marik from Malik in the beginning by placing a ritual onto his face.
Mokuba Kaiba~ Seto�s younger brother, first seen when he was kidnapped by Pegasus to lure in Seto. Is very devoted to his brother, follows him around and helps him when ever possible.
Duke Devilin/Ryuuji Otogi ~ Somewhat of a friend to Yuugi, created Dungeon Dice Monsters.
Pegasus J. Crawford~ Man who lost his love so turns to the millennium items believing that they could bring her back. Causes a lot of trouble to Yuugi and friends in the beginning of the series hosting the Duelist Kingdom. The creator of Duel Monsters, and is in charge of Industrial Industries. He used to hold the eye before Bakura takes it at the en of Duelist Kingdom.
Shadi ~ A really annoying guy that pops up every once and a while. He leads Marik to believe that it was the pharaohs fault that his father died, causing him to go and try and kill him. Possesses the Scale and the Key.
