Story;
Not all that much is really known about Mariku, it is shown that he was first created when Malik�s father burned the sacred tomb robbers marks into his back.
And he first shows up when Rishid is dieing, and Malik�s hatred grew. It is known that he is the �yami� of Marik and rarely ever shows up, but often influences many of the things that Malik is driven to do.
After the ritual Mariku almost emerges but when Rishid sees this he performed his own ritual to keep Mariku in check, using his own strength as the key.
In his first appearance Rishid is being punished and his power is weakened so it allows Mariku to come out. He steals the Sennen rod from it�s rightful place and kills Malik�s father by pinning him against the wall and stabbing him, then sending him to the shadow realm. In the Manga it is said that after that he cut off his �fathers� back, where the ritual was on it, and went up to Rishid (thinking he was dead) dropping the skin on him.
Laughing at the fact that he had always wanted to be apart of that family, and now he had the back and was. Rishid eventually awoke and locked Mariku back up inside the rod. After this he didn�t show up for a while until battle city, when Rishid was weakened from his battle with Joey and Mariku comes out.
He steals Malik�s body and battles Mai sending her to the shadow realm. Malik uses Bakura to battle Mariku to try and get his body back. Bakura and Malik lose and Mariku sends them to the shadow realm.
Later when he�s battling Yami, he uses Malik and Yugi as sacrifices for whom ever wins gets to keep their Hikari the other is banished to the shadow realm. When Malik gains control again, Mariku loses and is�.destroyed.
