Life story;
Malik was born into the Ishtar family, who through out history have been tomb keepers and saving the pharaoh�s secrets, waiting for the day which the pharaoh would return. Since through out time the Ishtar clan stayed under ground, Malik was also forced to do so. (although that didn�t keep him from sneaking out)
When he was ten he was forced through the tomb keeper�s inanition a ritual that took a red hot knife and cut the pharaoh�s secret into the eldest Ishtar male�s back. Anger from this built up along with pain and hatred for his father creating his alter personality, his yami, his dark side, Marik.
Rishid (Odeon in the American version) blocked Marik (Though in the American version Malik is referred to as Marik and Marik is yami Marik.) and in order to keep Marik locked away he did a ritual of his own carving into his own face. One day, because their father(can anyone remember the father�s name? I know it but I can�t remember it at all.) was busy Malik convinced his sister to let him sneak out and see the ground above, and left Rishid to cover for them so that their father would never find out. When they got back they found Rishid beaten to within an inch of his life because their father found out. Because of how weak he was Rishid could not keep Marik locked up, so he escaped.
Marik thanked their father for �killing� Rishid (apparently thinking that he was dead) and laughing at his wish to be apart of the Ishtar clan. Using Malik�s hatred he killed Malik�s father using the sennen rod to drive it through his heart and send him to the shadow realm.
After this was all done Shadi shows up telling malik that this was the will of the pharaoh, Malik getting the wrong message believes that the pharaoh killed his father making him wish to seek revenge.
Later on Malik gets the �winged dragon of Ra� card and goes through battle city trying to defeat the pharaoh. (mainly through mind slaves) After Rishid was struck down in a battle against Joey Marik comes through and eventually battles the pharaoh. Towards the end Malik over comes his evil side and surrenders to the pharaoh giving over the card, and showing the secret.
