Today is and you are now viewing the web site of the Yarmouth Division of the former Saint John Ambulance Brigade. The former "Brigade" divisions are now refered to as "St. John Ambulance Community First Aid Volunteers" or "Medical First Responders." Because of the advanced training required to be a Medical First Responder, this division did not have the time or people able to be certified for this. Therefore, we had an advertisememt placed in the May 23, 2006 edition of The Vanguard newspaper (page B8), advising the public that we are no longer available to cover their activities or events. The advertisement was also placed in the May 25, 2006 editions of the Clare Shopper (page 62) and the Lobster Bay Shopper (page 27). There was also and article in the July 11, 2006 edition of The Vanguard about our division folding. The information below is on the former division, and the things they did before folding...

Yarmouth's Volunteer Brigade:

St. John Ambulance is as committed to the service of the community today as it was when the hospitallers gave service to Christian pilgrims almost one thousand years ago. Most visibly, our Brigade members stood out in the crowd and provided first aid at public events such as sporting events, public gatherings and we were available for disasters such as the crash of Swissair Flight 111. Our division was formed in March of 1996, and disolved in May of 2006. Check out the history of the division and other links below for more information.
