Sin Is Common

Everytime that any of us are late for work or school, we are by definition guilty of sinning. That may seem a little far fetched, but as any 'sin' is a transgression in our duty to another or a law. Then by arriving after the appointed time we have transgressed in our duty.

The same can be said to be true every time that we take an extra minute or two for our coffee or lunch break. Each time that you or I drive our car and break the laws in any manner. We are guilty of transgressing those laws. We have broken those laws. And we are guilty of sin.

So I suggest that we are all sinners. This fact is true of us all.

Man Made Laws

We are all aware that in every nation the Governing body passes rules and regulations for the people to live by. But, did you realise that every law is there because we humans refuse to live by God's Laws.

Think about this for a moment and I believe that you will see the truth of this. The basic need of any civilisation is a code to live by. A set of rules that reinforce the unity and brotherhood of the group. Whether that group is a family; a tribe or indeed a nation. These rules invariably attempt to stop us from doing things that are harmful or hurtful to ourselves and the members of our group.

This is a fact the world over. The rules vary from place to place and time to time, but the basic desire behind them is to encourage harmonious living and discourage acts of hurt and harm. And here is the intreresting thing, no matter who we are or where we are, we all find that the basic precept is peace and harmony toward the members of our group. Goodwill toward the members of our tribe or nation.

This is the base to all the laws and rules that every government and every governing body has ever passed. The need and the desire to live together in peace, at peace with goodwill toward each member of our nation. To love each other and support each other in good times and bad.

But all these laws are only there because we ignore, or refuse to follow God's Laws. Indeed, if you care to look at most of the laws in the Western World, you may be surprised to see that nearly alll those that relate to our behaviour toward each other, and others property etc, are our Governments attempts to get us to follow the Ten Commandments of God.
