It's beauty is only enhanced by the gold-etched runes that run all around the top half of the staff. Slimanious' Staff of Power has two different properties rather then those of a normal Staff of Power. First, it has a +5 enchantment. Secondly, the staff acts as a Rod of Absorption, only it can be recharged. The staff can hold up to a total of 100 spell levels. When a spell is casted using the spell levels stored in the staff, the spell is intensified and uses double the amount of required spell levels. An example would be a level 3 fireball, which normally uses 3 spell levels, will be intensified, so the spell uses 6 spell levels instead. The staff retains the Retributive Strike ability that is normal to a Staff of Power. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Archwizard of Liamelia, Headmaster of the Conclave of Liamelia, Slimanious is one of the Lords of Liamelia and part of the Tel' Quessar. Slimanious is a Dark Elf who rejected the cut-throat religion and lifestyle of the drow and now worships Corellon Larethian as both way of life and magic. He is a formidable foe if there ever was one. Though adept and cunning, he rarely challenges anyone who he feels can be defeated with less skilled forms, but does not hesitate to defend himself against all nor allow personal feelings to interfere with what must be done. Always viewing situations and issues from all different sides, many see Slimanious as a very reserved individual. From his days as one of the Guardians of Myth Drannor and Defenders of Shadowdale, Slimanious found his true love for the forests, the Elven people and the religion, and soon committing himself to saving and preserving the race from eventually collapse at the hands of Human encroachment. This fostered the idea of a new and improved elven kingdom called Liamelia. Every waking hour was put towards bringing the kingdom to life and helping to instil the ideas and philosophy behind it. Silmanious also put forth much time and magical energy to help shape and create the defences of Liamelia. With that and much more accomplished, (like his personalized and highly treasured Moonblade and Staff of Power), Slimanious now works hard to try and bring Dark Elves out of the lightless caverns and back into the forests where they truly belong as a people. Every so often, Slimanious can be seen playing games and spending time with his most-loved familiar, Shadow. In his free time, Slimanious produces highly sought after spell books that show masterful craftsmanship, and sells them at his shop, The Quillspire. His skill with gem cutting only enhances the magical spell books he creates for various uses. Some of his best works include spell books that shrink into small sizes, books that magically copy a spell or scroll without writing and even books that can be used as a weapon. He has also produced spell books for sorcerers that create a certain amount of random spells a day for them to use. Slimanious also brews some of the most refreshing drinks in Liamelia, from the most crisp wines to extremely intoxicating ales that Dwarves go crazy for. His rare Elven Faywine is also a true honour to taste. Slimanious also brews different brews and tonics for sale. He has also creates inks that can be seen in normal vision, Darkvision, and Infravision (highly prized by wizards and barbarians). His skill with drinks are not less different then his skill with herbs and other natural liquids. Many wizards hate to admit that some of his weeds for smoking is quiet extraordinary - unlike anything they have ever tried. His herbs, both natural and magical can be used for several of reasons, from enjoyment to first aid. Forged with the help of Elvish smiths and High Arcana, Slimanious created Liamelia's first Moonblade in another effort to restore some of the old and mostly forgotten Elven ways. With his successful example, other Elven clans within Liamelia have now created Moonblades of their own to pass down from generation to generation and help keep the old traditions alive. |
