Caster level 19th; Signature Possessions: +1 Longsword, +1 Composite Longbow (+1 Str), Pipes of Pain (see below), Bracers of Armor +8, Amulet of Natural Armor +5, Ring of Spell Turning, Ring of Protection +5; --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pipes of Pain: effect area of 30 feet, all must make DC 14 or be dazed, when piping stops, all those affected are stricken by intense pain from the slightest noises, 1D4 damage per round for 2D4 rounds, all sonic attacks deal double damage, afterwards all noise cause great discomfort (-2 penalty on attack, skill checks, saving throws), effect acts as a bestow curse spell. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The large bands of Satyr (and more specifically, Gorstag) that live within Liamelia Forest have caused great expense and trouble to the human realm of Chondath. Since the beginning years when humans first started to inhabit The Vilhon Reach area, the Satyr have inhabited Liamelia Forest. All Satyr vigorously protect their homes and so when the humans started logging from the forest, the Satyr retaliated by attacking all those who threatened the woods or their homes. To this day, that creed still stands in the minds of the Satyr. They are most known for hassling travelers and merchants that use The Old Road that cuts through the western part of the forest. Often merchants are warned of the strange noises - stomping hooves and wild shouts in the middle of the night, or a sweet-sounding music that leaves many dumbfounded as to where all of their goods have gone. Many Satyrs now live in the Western part of the forest, creating small settlements not too far from The Old Road where their greatest revenues derive from. Gorstag is no different from the others of his kin except for his notorious tactics that leave merchants and travelers screaming with all haste for the fastest way out of the woods. A common tactic would be using his pan pipes to put travelers or merchants to sleep so that he and his kin can take all their items. It is not an uncommon thing to see a group stumble into Siannodel with nothing but the clothes on their backs and a heavy weariness' on their faces from lack of rest or sleep. Gorstag also likes to tease and taunt travelers by using his superior hiding skills to sneak up on and head butt travelers, and then run off into the dense forest with a hideous laughter. He also likes to give the impression that the forest is haunted by using spells that create ghost sounds, cause lights to appear and disappear or create illusions that make it seem like the terrain has changed from that of a forest to something like grassy plains. In other cases, Gorstag slightly alters the memories of those he has put to sleep, or teleport them 40 or so feet back from where they were - which is how Gorstag got the nickname 'the Joker'. Such acts often leave many feeling angered and it will not be the last time an armed and angry group goes charging back into the forest to confront their tormentor. With such instances, Gorstag likes to use his Pipes of Pain. As the intruders stumble around in agony, Gorstag throws sound burst spells at them, intensifying their pain even more until they leave the forest or fall over dead. Many merchants now avoid The Old Road that travels through the western part of Liamelia Forest, so as not to suffer the same fate as many before them. That has lead to a loss of business for Chondath as the merchants sell their goods at the closest town, usually Siannodel or Ormpetarr of Sespech, who is always in competition for trade against it's sister nation, Chondath. |
