P16. After Bilbo leaves the Shire, he eventually ends up in Rivendell, where he makes his home. How does that decision come about? When he arrives in Rivendell, does he ask to stay, or is he invited?

P17. Tooth bunnies! (1) Elrond (or Gilraen) teaching Estel to brush his teeth; or (2) little Pippin learning to brush his teeth; or (3) the hobbits, on the Quest, insisting on brushing twice a day.

P18. Bilbo said that he wrote the poem, “All that is gold does not glitter...” when Aragorn first told him about himself. What were Aragorn’s thoughts and feelings, upon first hearing that poem of respect and hope? And why did he reveal his secrets to Bilbo in the first place?

P19. Bilbo has a mild cold on the first birthday he and Frodo share at Bag End. Frodo insists on looking after Bilbo, cooking, and reading him stories. Frodo is happy to finally have someone all his own, to look after and love... not knowing that Bilbo is thinking the same thing.

P20. Young Eomer (or young Eowyn) visits the Glittering Caves for the first time.

According to Merry, the Brandybucks are known to go into the Old Forest. Why would they do that?

I doubt that most hobbits’ dislike of boats was something instinctual. Probably they grew up with nursery stories of what could happen to them in boats. How about trying to write one or two of those stories being told?

Just why did Frodo have Merry Brandybuck – who wasn’t even a proper tween yet – as his only helper the day after Bilbo vanished from the Shire? And just how did all those grownup hobbits take being bossed by a lad when Frodo disappeared into his study?
