BELIEF STATEMENTS
We believe that a safe environment promotes student learning.

We believe
continuous improvement is important if we are to graduate students who are confident independent learners.

We believe students need to apply their learning in meaningful contexts, including the
use of technology.

We believe each student is an individual with value and with unique
physical, cultural, social, emotional, and intellectual need. All populations should be served equally and consistently through instruction and mutual respect.

We believe student
learning is the main goal for our school.
TARGET AREA ONE (AFFECTIVE): Self-Regulation
Goal: Caring for Self and Others
Students will be motivated to independently purse academic and life activities to strengthen their learning and understanding.

TARGET AREA TWO (CONITIVE): Communications
Goal: Information Sources
Students will know how to access and use the information sources of the school media center for oral and written work.

TARGET AREA GOAL THREE (COGNITIVE): Technology
Goal: Technology Literacy
Students will apply common technologies and improve their abilities to access and process information.

A Message from the Principal
The Top Ten Goals for the Waller Web site are as follows:

1. To provide online learning expansion opportunities for all students in each of the content areas.

2. To align all online curriculum content with major courses of study.

3. To provide information to the public on school based events and general profile information about the school.

4. To give teachers the opportunity to design curriculum links and units that will support their instruction through asynchronous learning.

5. To provide online information to students about individual classroom homework assignments and classroom events.

6. To enable students to experience online in-depth study and extend their preparation for long and short term assessments.

7. To provide online CRT assessment preparation strategies that extend beyond the classroom day.

8. To provide school wide web based activities that support special topics event or celebrations.

9. To promote special events and information that is relative to the success of learning and general well being of the school.

10. To provide a two-way communication strategy that allows patrons to assess, inform and retrieve information about the school.

Each of these goals supports our long range North Central Goals that have been in place since the fall of 2000. Information gathered in real time data is crucial to the evaluation and growth of the Waller learning community.
