WHY DID THEY DISAPPEAR?

What caused the mass extinction 65 million years ago?
Many different animals disappeared from the earth forever. But why did the dinosaurs, the greatest and strongest creatures that ever walked the planet, vanish forever?

Nobody really knows, but scientists believe that a meteorite crashed into the Earth and volcanoes started to erupt destroying vegetation and killing many animals including the dinosaurs. The dust from the volcanoes together with the meteorite impact, blocked the sunlight for many years. This darkness caused a cold climate. Plants and animals that needed the light in order to survive died. Without plants, a plant-eating dinosaur couldn't eat and they died. The meat-eating dinosaurs that used to hunt plant-eating dinosaurs died as well.
