DATELINE: June 6, 2008 - 10pm - Thanks all for the great time tonight at Mr. Gatti's. It seems that all had a great time. I still own Savannah a pair of blue striped shorts, a couple players need their gifts, and Santana her magnet because I didn't know she was going to be at the party. Otherwise things went great! Thanks again and this will be the final update for the 2008 season. I'll see some of you next spring!

DATELINE: June 4, 2008 - 7am - Thank all of you for a great final game for the season and for the gifts, cards, hugs, and smiles. Thanks for the win for my birthday and just a note...Mia has all the game photos online. Take a look at Mia's & Greg's Album you will be impressed! I will have all the award stats updated later today however most records will not be updated due to the fact that with perfect attendance we only played nine games. Records require at least 10 games. See yall Friday. Bring your uniforms to turn in!

DATELINE: June 01, 2008 - Now this was a strange game. We managed to pull off the win even being start-handed players. We started and finished the game with just eight players but even with the out every ninth batter we managed to scrape together a 12-11 win.

DATELINE: May 30, 2008 - With all that's been going on lately I just realized that this was the tenth year that I have been doing these updates. I changed the music and the header for this section also.

DATELINE: May 29, 2008 - We prayed for rain but it wasn't happening so therefore our game tonight had to be called out due to three players going out of town and another not showing up for the game. Eleven minus four means forfeit. See y'all Monday! Mia will be out to take a sponsor plaque photo on Tuesday at 6:30. A makeup game will be added next week by SPAR so make plans, plus there is a pizza party planned for next Friday at Mr. Gatti's - details at Monday's game.

DATELINE: May 28, 2008 - Turns out that it is this Thursday that three of our players will be gone meaning without a 'rainout' we will have to forfeit. Lets wait an see what the weather man says. During the game a photo of our current mother/daughter duo managed to to snapped. Joy played in 1990 and now coaches while her daughter Alexis plays for the same team - and many time she plays the same position as mom did.

DATELINE: May 23, 2008 - What a great game the last one was. Everyone got to play, run, and field! I'm hearing that next Tuesday's game may be a forfeit since three players are going to Schlitterbahn without telling coach. Ms. Mia will be coming back to take a seperate team photo soon for a plaque for Billy Navarre and his 20 year sponsorship. More intormation later. At this time we do not have the date for the makeup game yet from May 15th. More on THAT later too.

DATELINE: May 19, 2008 - Tonight's game was sad. Never has coach had to call a game in the first inning and not even letting most of the team bat. Sammie didn't even get in but three batters. We all hope that this never happens again. However, we did get our pictures back from the photographer and they looked great. Thanks. Mia!

DATELINE: May 15, 2008 - 11am - SPAR just call to tell us our game had been rained out AGAIN due to this mornings rain showers. Our photos are ready so we will have them for the next game. DATELINE: May 13, 2008 - Game went well tonight and photos are scheduled Wednesday at 5:45 if it doesn't rain.

DATELINE: May 8, 2008 - Parent shirts are in and will be delived at the next game. The batting lineup will change a great deal next game as the leadoff will be Shelby followed by players that normally bat towards the end of the lineup. I need several players phone numbers so that I can "text" them - Savannah!?!. The "All Time" Roster has also been updated!

DATELINE: May 5, 2008: 2PM - All games/practices have been called off by SPAR due to rain. Next Game is Wednesday. Rainout from today will be made up on the 15th, same time, same field.

DATELINE: April 23, 2008 - After last year's battles as to who was the best team in the league, the Slammers were a 'no-sow' for our game last night. Not one player or coach of theirs showed up. The SweetHearts played a group of SHS player/umps in a practice game.

DATELINE: April 22, 2008 - Uniforms are ready to be passed out along with coaches shirts and parent shirts. Get to the game early so that you have time to get dressed BEFORE the game.

DATELINE: April 18, 2008 - Tonight's Practice game is rained out. Everyone is to show up early next Tuesday so that we can get uniforms passed out before we play our first game.

DATELINE: April 14, 2008 - Great practice tonight. Lots of power-hitting and solid work on fundamentals and a lot of fun. Almost everyone showed up for practice - only missing Santana.

DATELINE: April 12, 2008 - Thanks to Micaela, Freja, Brooke, Shelby and Sammie for the work they did today at the batting cages. Micaela even did a little pitching practice.

DATELINE: April 10, 2008 - Tonight's practice looked very good with Alexis and Micaela looking very good in their first real practice at pitching. We also found another catcher - Santana told me she has always played catcher. We'll see tomorrow night.

DATELINE: April 9, 2008 - Just got back from looking over this years "summer" schedule and its nothing like we have ever had before. First, it's not summer. All our games END before June 4th! SPAR can not seem to explain why the summer league is not in the summer. The schedule is posted elsewhere on this site.

DATELINE: April, 7, 2008 - Just got news that Billy Narvarre will again sponsor the team - for the 20th year. Thanks Billy!
We just dropped two players who would not show up for practice, Karlie and Allison, and added a new player assigned by SPAR, Santanna Wing. Welcome Santanna.

DATELINE: April, 4, 2008 - Looks like we will have to call SPAR about extra players since three players have never shown any interest in playing. With practice time so short we need these extra players soon.

DATELINE: April, 1, 2008 - Practice change - the one scheduled for April 7 has been moved to Friday April 11, at 7pm, field #5 at Pattison. Coach Greg has a band concert on the 7th. The Lake Charles Community band will be in concert at LCB Academy of Learning Aud. at 7pm.
Great practice. Learned alot and had all my vets there. They got to show everyone else why they will be the starting infield. See y'all Thursday in Carlyss.

DATELINE: March, 28, 2008 - Very good practice tonight. I may have found a catcher, and several very good infielders. Plus all of the new players that showed up did very well. I liked what I saw tonight.

DATELINE: March, 26, 2008 - Draft: The following players have been drafted: Alexis Durio, Courtney Kyle, Brook Sorgee, Freja Cole, Autumn Hammonds, Karlie Carriere, Kristin Beverly, Allison Ceasar.
FIRST PRATICE: Friday, March 29, 7-8:30pm, on field #29 at Hazel St. (McMurry/Maplewood). Practice schedules will be passed out and uniform sizes will be taken.
The new thing for SPAR will be the rainout Hotline: 527-5241. The season will begin on April 21st.

DATELINE: March, 25, 2008 - Terrah and I have talked about players to get if possible and who to pick with our #1 draft pick. We know that we won't get many of the wanted players but we will try. Draft will be this Wednesday, March 27th.

DATELINE: March, 19, 2008 - Tryouts will be today, March 19, 5:30, on Pattison, field 2.
