What's going on with the SweetHearts in 2004
DATELINE: Monday, June 28 - Rain, rain, rain. That's it, the season is over. All that's left is the party. As soon as I get all the details worked out tomorrow I will post it here. What a way to end the seaon - four straight rain outs.
DATELINE: Friday, June 25 - Rain, rain, go away. Lets see - Tuesday's game was cancelled during the bottom of the first due to rain and lightening. Thursday and Friday's games were cancelled due to rain. All that is left is a makeup game on Monday and the season will be over. I have asked the park NOT to rescedule any of our rainouts due to players going on vacation.
DATELINE: Wednesday, June 16 - Rain, rain, go away. Today's game has been rescheduled due to the rain out of a rain out game. This game has now been rescheduled for June 28. Therefore June 8th's rain out was moved to June 16th and rained out and moved to June 28 - think we will play it?.
DATELINE: Friday, May 28 - Seems like we keep losing players. Galyn left the team now due to lack of interest in softball. This still leaves us with 13 players. Beginning next week vacations, dance, cheeleading will begin to take a toll. At this point the season has been kind to us while we get better at base running. Hitting is a weak spot but next week I will hold batting practice plus we will do some sliding drills.
DATELINE: Friday, May 21 - Finally, our first game has been played and we managed to get our first real win of the season. The fields looked great, not a drop of rain, and a fun matchup with another team interested in just getting a little experience under our belts. Thanks Martin.
DATELINE: Tuesday, May 18 - We finally get sunshine and a chance to play and the BaseBurners FORFEIT. I would rather play and lose. Next game is Friday, 5:30pm, field 13.
DATELINE: Sunday, May 16 - Still raining. Yes, we have a game scheduled for Monday at 5:30pm but with all this rain I don't think we will play. The weather service is calling for Isolated T-Storms all week. We will just have to wait and see.
DATELINE: Thursday, May 13 - Too much rain for practice! We have lost so much time this year. Here is what the weather looks like at 4:00 - more rain on the way.
DATELINE: Monday, April 26 - Too much rain over the weekend. Practice has been rained out and moved to Wednesday night f6 6:30pm. See you there!
DATELINE: Friday, April 23 - The park just called to tell me that our practice for TONIGHT has been moved to another field! A little late to be trying to get a hold of everyone to move it so we just cancelled the practice. See you Monday!
DATELINE: Wednesday, April 14 - The first practice went great. Ten girls showed up and looked wonderful. The ones who said the couldn't hit - did. Ones who said they couldn't throw - did. Plus I had five dads helping out. All-in-all it was a great opening night. Now lets just find a pitcher!
DATELINE: Monday, April 12 - The weather is nasty today and our first practice has been moved to Wednesday, 6:30pm, field 6, Pattison Complex. Kaitlyn Breaux's dad called to tell me she would not be playing this year.
DATELINE: Wednesday, April 7 - Tonight the Sulphur recreation department held draft for the 2004 season's teams. The following players were selected for this tears SweetHearts...Shawna Crochet

The team's first practice will be Monday, 6:30pm, field 6, Pattison Complex.
