What's going on with the SweetHearts in 2001
ATTENDANCE
DATELINE: Saturday, June 16 - We might actually get in some games this week. We will just have to see. I even think all our players are back.
DATELINE: Saturday, June 9 - Rain, rain, rain. Allison is still taking its toll on our games. Everything has been washed out this past week PLUS Monday and Tuesday of next week. The SweetHearts' 300th game won't be next year now. We will have to wait until the 2003 season. Below is Saturday's radar map for Allison.

DATELINE: Thursday, June 7 - Rain, rain, rain. Allison is still taking its toll on our games. Everything has been washed out for a fourth day in a row.
DATELINE: Wednesday, June 6 - Tropical storm Allison has wiped out a couple of games this week. There was so much rain that SPAR even closed the golf course - now that's lots of rain. Next chance for a game will be Thursday if no rain.
DATELINE: Wednesday, May 16 - Two good practices Monday and Tuesday if you keep in mind how many players were gone. We practiced with the Baseburners both nights and players who attended looked real good. Photos are online of Monday's practice game. You can see them by going to the schedule page and click on that practice. First real game is Friday and we are not ready.
DATELINE: Friday, May 10 - 2001 Schedule posted. Go back to front page and check it out. Next time we will meet is Monday, May 14, for a practice game - 6:30pm, North Frasch, field 13. See you there.
DATELINE: Thursday, May 9 - Another day of not being able to get on our fields - which are better known as The Church of St. SPAR - because it SPRINKLED on the fields!
DATELINE: Monday, May 7 - Another day of not being able to get on our fields - which are better known as The Church of St. SPAR - because they just put out "fresh dirt"!?!?!?
DATELINE: Friday, May 4 - Added two more players this week, Kaitlin Wagnon and Lacy Gardiner. The SweetHearts and Baseburners have continued to practice together each night with great success. Both teams are coming along and should open the season way ahead of the other teams. The SweetHearts got a nice surprise tonight as they discovered another good pitcher on their team.
DATELINE: Friday, April 27 - Louisiana High School State Softball Campionships are going on here in Sulphur this weekend. No rec practices are planned. We had a great practice last Monday night and had one planned for Tuesday but it rained. Positions are still being settled. Not much is known yet. We only have two more practices and two practice games.
DATELINE: Wednesday, April 18 - Two practices under our belt and a few positions are wrapped up. We knew going in who our lead pitcher would be but most other positions were wide open. By this morning second and third are just about locked in. First base may be a problem. Catcher may be settled too if I find the right first base player. Over all it was a very productive night. Next week we will combine two practices with the Baseburners.
DATELINE: Monday, April 16 - First practice tonight. Things look real good after just one night. Two players didn't show. Talked to both afterwards. One, Danetta, quit to play soccer. We are down to only 11 players. I will start watching the player "pool" at SPAR for any late sign ups.
DATELINE: Thursday, April 12 - New 2001 Roster is listed below:
Ashleigh Craddock
Keisha Gould
Ashley Hughes
Claire Johns
Danetta Lanclos
Amanda Meche
Caitlin Watzlavik
Rachael Leone
Ashley Person

DATELINE: Wednesday, April 11 - Draft was held tonight. For the first time all players were drafted in a city-wide or "common" draft. The 11-12 Junior girl's league will have eight teams this year. A full roster of the "new" SweetHearts will be posted here by tomorrow.
