A beautiful and demure young woman, Aeris is deeply religious and spiritual. While physically weak, her great magical skills are unsurpassed. But remember: always put her in the back line on the battlefield since she is only good at casting spells and her defence is poor.

Aeris is one of the most mysterious female characters of Final Fantasy VII. She met Cloud by chance while selling flowers on the streets of Midgar, and decided to join him soon afterwards. She plays a very important role in the story, but she seems much more interested in deepening the love triangle between herself, Cloud and Tifa. Her true roots and heritage remain vague and undefined until much later on in the game when the plot develops in more depth. When she was young, her real mother died, and so Aeris' relationship with her adoptive mother is often strained.
