College Of The White Dragon Study Program

Paths In Druidry

In Druidry today there is a definate need for knowledge. That requires each participant or Grove member to learn a certain amount of knowledge of the Druidic ways. Therefore as a whole Grove we can participate together and provide service to each other and the Pagan community with knowledge and experience. We can each give something of great importance towards rituals and self healing. We all have healing to do within before healing to do without can be possible.
/!\ We at College Of The White Dragon are 0mnitheistic, that means we have many God/desses and a Boundless Spirit. We call upon traditional Cymric (Welsh) deities whos lore is to be found in the four branches of the Mabonogi. Being an Earth Religion we honor the Great Mother Madron and give her our respects and make connection with her healing energy whenever possible and at every ritual. We learn to live in harmony with her for she needs that from everyone of us. The pathwork we do in Druid craft involves learning to integrate our spirituality into the steps we take in the inner and the outer worlds. When we connect our Druid spirituality into our whole lives, then we are living fully. In this complete state of existance Druids can excell at a more rapid pace in their spiritual practice with inspiration and enthusiasm.
/!\ There are three phases of learning in Druidry. Below is a rough outline of each grade. There are resources in the back of this book to assist you in your studies.

/!\ Awenyddion/Bardagh Grade /!\

/!\The bards of old dedicated their lives to the study of the lore of the land. Sometimes spending twenty or more years devoted to the memorization of their people stories. They were also the news carriers, poets and musicians. They wrote poetry and songs for celebrations, births, deaths, heroe stories, and basically about the ways of their way of life.
/!\ The inspirational source of the ancient Druids still exists in the archetype mythos and legends that came from the Bards. It has in no doubt been altered over time by the Christian monks who recorded them. But, knowing the basics for at least a foundation of their complex sophisticated system we can begin to put the pieces back together. * Search for the Awen, meditate on the Celtic Kindreds. Memorize the tree meditation.
* Study of Indo-European ways. There are many great books listed in the back of this site.
* Study of Mythos of Celtic Gods and Goddesses. Develope a relationship with them.
* Meditation, Journeys to the Otherworlds and Underworlds.
* A form of Divination, Ogham and the tree calendar. Scrying into a bowl of water, or pond.
* Study the seasonal rites and write a poem for each including which God and Goddess correspond to the seasons.
* Create a Nemeton (sacred space) for ritual, prayer, and meditation. This can also be an alter in your home if you live too close to neighbors.

/!\ Gwyddon/ Seer Grade /!\

The Gwyddon Seers & Healers of old knew the lore of the trees and the Ogham. They were also in touch with the unseen world. It was considered of upmost importance for anyone who was a student to practice different methods of meditation to tune the mind into the frequencies of nature and the unseen worlds. The Seers of old told the tribe about the signs. Signs or omens can be seen in dreams, journeys, or in everyday life. Interpreting the omens was a learned process in which the student will meet the ancestors, the nature spirits, and the shining ones. The student also gets to communicate with them, become more familiar with, and bring them into everyday life. The most important step on the Seer path is knowing what to look for, this is the intuitive path. It is also about learning to trust your Otherworldly guidance with an open heart.
* Continuing Divinatory studies till successful reading can be done.
* Healing studies, herb lore, energy healing, meditation, wholistic views.
* Learns to observe energy flow.
* Study earths natural geometry and how it effects energy flow in ritual
* Learn about ritual construction and shape
* writes poems and songs for rituals.
* Partakes in performing rituals.

/!\ Derwydd/Druid Grade /!\

The ancient priestly class of Druidry lead rituals, and wrote them. They also did blessings over land and people. They told the people of the signs and omens, and what they meant. Their training is the most extensive.
* Applying learned knowledge, initiating needed action.
* Writes and leads rituals.
* Gives of oneself to be of service to the Druid community.
* And tries to live a peacefull life forever!
