Ancestors
When we are to honor our ancestor spirits it is not in the form of worship but a form of reverence. We offer them inscence and candles from which they can take needed energy. Or we may light a rememberance candle on our alters with a picture of them or something that may have belonged to them or places they liked to be. During ritual we call in our Pagan ancestors to assist us in our ceremony making. If you go far enough back into mostly anyones ancestry, you will reach Pagans. As we all have ancestors that return us to pre-Christian times.
Nature Spirits
Nature spirits are part of the creative energy flow that exists all through out nature. They are not the same as Faeries. Faeries were originally called in Gymraeg, "Tylwyth Ted" aka "Faerie Folk" and are thought to have come to Earth long ago from the Otherworld. They are generally taller than humans and thin with pointed Faerie like facial features. They are the Shining Ones or Deities in Celtic lore. Back to: Nature spirits exist in plants, streams, mountains, trees, animals, and in this Middleworld earthly plane. They are here to assist the natural world in balancing the energy flow on Earth.
To see nature spirits there are many different approaches. I have found that when you have been acknowledged by them as being in harmony with them, they will show them selves. Many people see them in different ways. Some say they see flashing lights, or faces in the plants and trees. Where ever there is a strong presence of Nature Spirits, then it is also a place where the Ancestors and the Tylwyth Teg will feel welcome. Their energy frequency can easily merge with ours when we are most aware of our own sacred connection with the natural universe.
Shining Ones /Tylwyth Teg
These are the deities in Celtic lore. In ritual we refer to them as the Tylwyth Teg. They appear in the old stories as the Gods and Goddesses, or Otherworldly folks. They are also known as the faerie folks or the people of the hills. We honor them in our rituals by offerings of herbs songs, and prayers. They assist us in our learning to have a closer connection with our higher selves, and they bring their blessings to our gatherings.
Each God and Goddess has their own personality, magical gifts, seasonal qualities, and lore. If you want to call in the god of Alban Hefin/summer solstice, you would call Llew or Hu. He is strong like the Oak, bright like the sun, and a talented genius. He symbolizes transformation, victory, and durability.
