Rose of Honor

May 2008

C ongratulations to Kim Everett and Christine Hall for receiving the Rose of Honor at the May 17th meeting.  The Rose of Honor is presented to a member who has given outstanding or extraordinary service in all three of the following fields: the fraternity beyond the local level, the local chapter, and the community.  Members must have already received the Sword of Honor to qualify for this award.

KIM EVERETT:
In addition to serving as a past President of the alumnae chapter, Kim has been a Province Officer and is currently the Alumnae Chapter Comment Editor for
Tempo!.  She has created many service project opportunities for the chapter, which in turn have helped our music community. She is always willing to step up and volunteer to help with chapter events.  She is the webmaster and designer of our chapter website, which has received an Honorable Mention Award for Best Chapter Website from SAI National Headquarters for the last two years.  She is currently the Editor of our chapter, also serving on the following committees:  By-Laws, Programs, Scholarship, Webmaster, and Yearbook.  Her enthusiasm for SAI is evident through her dedication to the chapter and our objectives.  Kim holds a Sword of Honor and was initiated into Gamma Rho at the University of Tennessee.

CHRISTINE HALL:
Christine Hall, a former Province Officer, is also a very dedicated member of the Alumnae Chapter.  She serves as chair of the Service Committee, a member of the Honors Committee, and a member of the Fundraising committee.  In the past, she has been the chapter's Secretary.  She is currently serving as both VP Membership and VP Ritual.  She has provided the chapter with many opportunities for service, including answering phones at KUHF and working registration at TX Big Beat.  She has many creative ideas, and was instrumental in making last year's Province Day a success.  She is also the moderator of the National SAI Listserv email discussion list.  Christine received a Sword of Honor at Murray State University, where she was initiated into Iota Beta.
