At the end of September 2001 a team of 15 participants and 4 officials from our dojo formed part of the Natal team that travelled to Cape Town for the Shukokai World Karate Union Ryushin-Kan anneal championships.
We are proud to announce that our team brought back 18 medals for our dojo and the successful weekend was rounded of with a trip to Ratanga Junction that was enjoyed by all.
That following participants brought back medals and showed that hard and dedicated training does pay off. Well done you guys.

Last but not least, Our sensei, Dave Millar, got his grading results from Japan, he is now a 6th dan. Sensei Hanshi Masuyama gave the results and certificates to the successul candidates at a special grading ceromony held in Cape Town.

Congratulations to Izette, you made us very proud, bringing back a silver medal from the Zone 6 Championships that was held in Gaberone on the week end of 25 May 2001

Congratulations to Pieter and Izette. Pieter got a bronze medal for kumite and Izette a silver
medal also for kumite at the all styles karate tournament in Pietersburg. Kwa-Zulu Natal
won the overall competition.

Izette has also been chosen to represent South Africa in the Zone 6 cadet championships to be held in Botswana. Hereby earning Protea colours. We are proud of you. Sensei Dave have also been invited to officiate at this tournament.

Dave Millar have been invited to represent South Africa in a special conference on kata for the WKF ( World Karate Union) in Japan.

Reinette van Zyl have joined our club 2 weeks ago, and have competed in the Easter bunny championships and walked off with a bronze medal for kata and a bronze medal for kumite. You made us very proud Reinette.
