Ratings
When Ryan's Hope premiered on ABC in 1975, its ratings were not very high and, at the end of the season, it ranked last among all network soaps. During the next season, however, it's ratings would rise greatly and it was soon in the middle of the ratings. It's ratings remained relatively steady until 1982, when it's ratings suddenly dropped. The ratings dropped even more when the show was moved from 12:30PM to 12:00PM, a timeslot in which many stations chose to air local news instead of it. By 1987, it was clear that cancellation was imminent. It was finally cancelled in October 1988.
