Jack Fenelli

Portrayer: Michael Levin (July 7, 1975 - January 13, 1989)

Background: His parents supposedly died in a fire, so he was raised as an orphan at the Good Shepard orphange. Once there, he became close with Sister Mary Joel and Jumbo Marino. He grew up to be a solitary man, who later would serve in the Vietnam War. Jack eventually became a journalist (and was one before his Vietnam stint), and wrote a column in the local newspaper. He was eventually tamed by Mary Ryan, with whom he had a daughter. Much later, he would discover that Sister Mary Joel was his mother!

Spouses: Mary Ryan (1975-1979, ended due to her death)
Leigh Kirkland (1989 - present, married in last episode

Relationships: Rose Pearse Melina (1980-1981) & Sydney Price (1983-1984?)

Occupation: Journalist
Bartender at Delia's Crystal Palace (1981)

Children: Ryan Fenelli (born 1977; with Mary Ryan)

Medical History: Injured in serious automobile accident in autumn 1976. His chest was almost literally torn apart, and it was a miracle he survived.

Perils: (1981) Targeted by mobsters Alexei Vartova and Joe Novak when he attempted to prove they framed him for a crime they had committed.

True Love: The story of the love between Mary Ryan and Jack Fenelli is one of the greatest love stories in the history of daytime. Mary and Jack's personalities were complete opposites: Jack was the solitary, cynical reporter, while Mary was a young, joyful person who loved being around others. Mary was not too fond of Jack originally because he did not believe her brother was a 'superhero' like she claimed he was, but their fondness for each other grew, and that fondness eventually became love. On July 1, 1976, Jack and Mary were married. However, they would soon overcome another difficult part of their lives when Jack was in an automobile crash. Jack became impotent and took a very long time to recover. When Jack found out Mary was pregnant, he eventually had the marriage annulled. However, Maeve Ryan (Mary's mother) got them back together again and they were remarried in late 1977. Together, they went to Ireland for their honeymoon. Unfortunately, Mary was killed by the mob in December 1979 when she was doing a story on them. Jack was heartbroken by her death. Mary's ghost visited him in 1983 to get him to move on. Her ghostly voice visited him once more in the final episode, in which Jack married Leigh Kirkland. He had finally moved on.
