Day Two - New Jersey
see route map
We awoke to someone's alarm clock at about 4am. People in the hallways
were starting to rustle about gathering gear and packing up to get to the
buses that were going to drop us off at Camp Site One.

Waiting for the bus while dreaming of breakfast.
For the most part, we were pretty refreshed and alert. However, a cold
that Phyllis was harboring on Thursday kicked into full steam on
Friday night. We had to find a drug store for some decongestant as Medical
did not have it in their supplies.
As we walked about one of the downtowns, crew member sweepers were
scolding us "Now, now, no shopping..." When we told them we were
looking for a pharmacy they were very helpful and pointed the way.

A kodak moment -- A pit stop with a view...

What a wonderful and big welcome from the town our lunch site was
located.

Eti and Velvet walking into Camp Site 2. Whew!
Phyllis was at the bleachers cheering us in.
After I had my shower and rest period, I headed over to the Medical
Tent to tend to 4 blister spots. Ouch!
Eti was running around looking for a lost pair of sunglasses which was
turned in at the Lost and Found tent later in the evening.
I found Tracy and we exchanged our memory items. You will find the
picture of my cartouche below.
We settled down for the evening with a warm meal and karaoke
entertainment by fellow walkers and crew members. What a treat!
Lights out for everyone at around 9:30pm. Surprisingly everyone
complied. I didn't hear much movement after the designated time. But then
again, I fell asleep pretty quick.
It was a good day full of friendly faces and attitudes. Everyone moving
towards the same goal can be such a driving powerful force. In this case,
a good force.
Total miles: 19.88
