WHY walk?

There are many reasons why each of us has decided to participate in this event. Speaking for myself, my cousin Mark has been living with AIDS for over 10 years, and I wanted to do this for him. Also, in light of September 11, I and the others in my group wanted to do something to make an impact globally -- to do something big -- something that would challenge us. The net proceeds from this event will benefit the work of maverick scientists at two of the world's leading university research facilities -- the UCLA AIDS Institute and the Emory Vaccine Center.

Donations as of 8/20/02: $2,368.00
(total needed to participate in 3-day walk: $2,200.00)
