IT Billing - Call Pricing
Call Pricing !!
The principle:
1- Check what your origination is i.e. the place where you are calling from.
2- Check what your termination is i.e. the number you have dialed.
3- The call will be charged from the location you are standing at to the number (dial code) youhave made a call to.
Components:
The total price of the call can be calculated based on the components involved in the call. These components are:
1- airtime charge (package based)
2- pstn charge (pstn charge or pulse based charge) *
3- long distance change (NWD access or MSK charge) **
4- other operator charge (other cellular networks)
5- time band of the call (peak, off-peak and night)
6- day of the call (holiday etc)
7- roaming outside of home (regional or international) ***
8- the regions involved (Ufone has 3 regions North, Central and South)
9- tax on the call (call detail on the bill and in SV doesn't reflect the tax)
* PSTN is calculated in two ways i.e. using the simple pstn charge of Rs 2.01/5min or Rs 5/min AND by using the Pulse Matrix.
- Rs 5/min is used when making calls to Ufone-mobile in the peak and to ufone-mobile & pstn in off-peak time band from a PTML -> PTML city. It is also called the MSCK charge **
- Pulse Matrix is used for peak time band in case of a PTML -> PTML city call and for all time bands in case of a PTML -> non-PTML city call)
*** Roaming is of two type - domestic and international. If you are roaming within North <--> Central, its Rs 1/min and if between South <--> Central/North, then its Rs 5/min.
- International roaming is priced by the other operators' network and charged to the customer as per the tariff.
Calculating the price:
Case -1 (outgoing)
For a call made by a Karachi customer (0333-21xxxxx) at 10:30am from Islamabad to 030021xxxx (Mobilink Karachi) for 1 minute.
This call will be charged the following (if package peak airtime is Rs 5/minute):
= [5(airtime)/min+ 5(msck pstn)/min+ 2(nwd access)/min+ 2(other operator)/min]+ tax(15% of the call price)
= Rs 16.10
Case -2 (incoming)
For a call received by a Islamabad customer (0333-51xxxxx) at Karachi from 030021xxxx (Mobilink Karachi) for 1 minute.
This call will be charged the following:
= [5(regional roaming south <--> north/central)/min]+ tax(15% of the call price)
= Rs 5.75
