The Nolans- Series 1...
It was one of Aaron's dreams when he got a radio show of his own to put in place a recorded drama serial that he could play each week to keep listeners "hooked". Well, the first series certainly wasn't promising when it was played on air and played to Aaron's family. No one took much of a liking to it.
The acting "lacked enthusiasm", many said, and the quality of the recording was very poor. The first series was recorded in December 2001, with the intention of the first episode going to air on the first Sunday in January.
Series one of The Nolans was five episodes, with the last being written so that the show could either be cancelled in one final episode (if The Nolans completely failed) or the storyline could be dragged longer, and a whole new series could be made (if it was a hit). To Aaron's delight, the show was continued, and a new series was made.
Here's some highlights from the first series.

Episode 1 (First On Air 6/1/02)- It's New Year's Eve. Jeffery, Tanya, Gavin, and Ebony, who live near Melbourne are holidaying on the Mornington Peninsula and are at a crowded party/festival event. Walking in the busy crowd, Gavin loses sight of his family and Jeffery, Tanya and Ebony start to worry because the crowd is so big and he is lost.
Episode 2 (First On Air 13/1/02)- Realising they won't find Gavin in the huge crowd so late in the night, Jeffery, Tanya, and Ebony head back to the caravan they are staying in for the night in hope that Gavin will find his own way home. Morning comes and Gavin isn't home. A knock on the door from a police officer is a sudden shock and scare for the family.
Episode 3 (First On Air 20/1/02)- After much pleading and begging from Jeffery to the police officer to find out where Gavin is, the police officer finally says he knows nothing about his disappearance. The police officer announces he is there to sell raffle tickets to all of the caravans and asks if The Nolans want to buy some. Gavin remains lost, but at the end of the episode, Ebony finds something...
Episode 4 (First On Air 27/1/02)- Ebony has discovered a note from Gavin. He is alive and well and will be home soon. He has found some friends and would be home soon. Just as Ebony and Tanya are discussing when Gavin might be back, he turns up with two friends he had just met, Nutsy and Wozza. After discussing what Gavin had been up to, the family decided to go out for tea, but stop when Gavin announces he still has something to say...
Episode 5 (First On Air 3/2/02)- Gavin reveals his big news: he has been offered a job at the pizza shop they are going to for a meal. The next day, Jeffery, Tanya, and Ebony prepare to head off back home to Melbourne. Five minutes down the road, the family find a police car is following them. Jeffery stops the car, and a police officer asks Jeffery to step out of the car...
