[[DVD FREE REGION FOR JAP PS2 SCPH 10000]]: The first PS2 launched in Japan has DVD Free Regions 'bug'. Why is the word bug quoted? We believe either SCEI did not do it well or SCEI really meant it to come with DVD free regions. [Note: This can be done if your DVD driver is v1.00].
Here is how to do it:

1. Turn your PS2 on and boot into PS2 browser without a disc in the tray.
2. Then insert any region DVD movies.
3. Press [CIRCLE] and [R1] buttons together.
4. After that, hold [RIGHT] until the menu appears.
5. Lastly, press [CIRCLE] and [R1] buttons again.

If the above instructions do not work, you may have a revision version of JAP PS2 SCPH 10000. However this also can be done by the followings:

1. Reset your PS2 with your DVD movies inside the tray.
2. Let it load until reaches the browser screen.
3. Select the disc icon then press and hold [SQUARE] and [CIRCLE] buttons together until the DVD menu feature appears.
4. Then you can either select the play icon or the movie start icon which is in the middle to the far left. If one does not work the other one will.
   

PS: Do you know that lots of DVD movies cannot be played on older PS2 version?

[[MENU CONVERSION JAPANESE TO ENGLISH]]:

1. Turn your PS2 on and boot without a disc.
2. Select the 6 kanji words and hit [CIRCLE] button.
3. Another menu appears, press [UP] button to upper 6 kanji words, then hit [CIRCLE] button.
4. Select the right one with 3 kanji words.
5. Press [CIRCLE] button and the menu will be in English!

[[PARENTAL UNLOCK FOR US & PAL PS2]]: Have you guys accidently locked your PS2 DVD feature. It sometimes happens although you would like to watch non-porn/R-rating DVD movies. Thus, your PS2 DVD feature is unplayable. Here is the way to unlock it.

1. Load the DVD movies you want to play until the screen asks for password.
2. Enter the code 7444 (This is a master code, so it should work for all US PS2 versions, including the latest release) or 4777 for all PS2 PAL versions.
