DAIRI
The regency of Dairi, whose capital city is Sidikalang, covers an area of 3,146.10 km2 or 4.3 % of the province of North Sumatera. Dairi consits of 12 Sub regencies, 7 administrative units, and 151 villages. Most of the area of the Regency of Dairi consits of highlands and rolling hills. Each part of Dairi has a different climate because of differences in topography. The area below 400 m above sea level has a tropical climate. The area from 400-1000 m above sea level has a sub-tropical climate. The area 1000 m above sea level has a colder climate all year round.
There are some places and activities of attraction in this place such as ; the shore of Lake Toba, Puncak Sidangkap (the top of Sidangkap), Lake Sicike-cike, Kempawa (a lake on the mountain), Lae Una waterfall, Letter "S", Sidikalang Museum, traditional houses, Ulag of Life (wedding ceremony), the funeral ceremony of Pesta Menaneu Tahi, the ceremony for Excavating the Bones of Ancestors, House warming ceremonies
