local news station on the date of 11/30/2000. So,

Republican on Dec. 7, 1925 after the win over the
Cards. This tells about the tremendous amount of
trouble the city of Pottsville went to, in order to ensure
maximim coverage of this game to the citizens of
the "Home of the Maroons". It also informs you about
the rejoicing and surprise of the city of Pottsville after
rightfully winning the championship. At this point in
time,they were not suspended because the 4 Horsemen
game had not taken place.

how both teams prepared, how both cities felt about about
their chances at winning the championship, etc.

so that the Maroons may play the Cardinals for the Champion-

A new Pottsville Maroons article (from the Pottsville Republican) was
just released September 8th in the local paper. It focuses on Russ Zacko,
son of Joseph Zacko who was the official outfitter of the Maroons, and his
thoughts on the Maroons along with his charitable nature.

one. The last Maroon, Joseph A. Hauptly, died at the age of 97. This
article simply tells of what Hauptly was known for in the Maroon
organization, along with some other interesting detailed information

Cards. One of the important details being that it labels it as the Champion-
ship prior to the game. It gets into both teams' preparations for the "big
game", but mostly concentrating on the Maroons. Plus, it gives the injury
reports, and the new free agent acquisition(s).
This article expresses the author's viewpoint(s) on the NFL Films' clip on
the Maroons. A lot of it holds true, there were many missed blocks and
quite a few assumptions that were unfounded. But, the film still go its
point across and was done surprisingly well considering the length. It's a

was found in the Philadelphia Record. It explains the general play of both
clubs during the game, and tells how and why the game plan of the Maroons
worked out.
This is the newest article of the Pottsville Maroons, the story actually came
out earlier today. So, hot off the press, check out this new article reflecting
on what happened back in that fateful 1925 season along with the ongoing
efforts of Maroons' enthusiasts- to this day -attempting to 'right the wrong' of
the 1925 season, 75 years later.
Here we go- the Denver Post's article on the Pottsville Maroons. I've gotten quite
a response, and I think it's quite interesting that such a prestigious newspaper
would choose to run an article on the Pottsville Maroon's misfortune of 1925.
You definitely have to read this, as it includes a plethora of opinions and
statements on both sides- from Ray Didinger to Joe Horrigan to Russ Zacko.
Another more than respectable newspaper, Washington Post, has done the story!

This article is Philadelphia's paper the day after the Maroons were thought to
have won the championship. Very interesting, and sheds a bit more light on the
subject.
This is a look back at the 1925 championship during the year of 1963, it reinforces
some of the general ideas challenged during that season when the case was reviewed.
