SITE UPDATE:
A new article has been added a few
Wednesdays ago to the archive.  Its from the Pottsville
Republican on Dec. 7, 1925 after the win over the
Cards.  This tells about the tremendous amount of
trouble the city of Pottsville went to, in order to ensure
maximim coverage of this game to the citizens of
the "Home of the Maroons".  It also informs you about
the rejoicing and surprise of the city of Pottsville after
rightfully winning the championship.  At this point in
time, they were not suspended because the 4 Horsemen
game had not taken place.

This brief article pertains to the rivalry between Larry Conover
(still a fan favorite in Pottsville) vs. Herb Stein (Pottsville Player).
This deep rivalry not only deepened in the pro level but also naturally

SITE UPDATE:  NEW SATURDAY
Once again, another
Pottsville Republican article about the up-and-
coming game, Pottsville/Cleveland.  It speaks of Coach Dick Rauch
instituting daily practices, (Rauch is credited with being the first
coach to do so) and working on gaps in the game plan along with
strengthening both the offense and defense as a whole.  This duration
of daily practices and "commentary" is pertaining to the next team on the schedule, Cleveland Indians.  Larry Conover (former Maroon) is also
mentioned on being on the Indians' squad.  See one of the above articles
to read about Larry Conover, fan favorite of the locals, and the Maroons.

This article tells of the up-and-coming championship game against the
Cards.  One of the important details being that it labels it as the Champion-

SITE UPDATE:  NEW SATURDAY!
This article expresses the author's viewpoint(s) on the NFL Films' clip on
the Maroons.  A lot of it holds true, there were many missed blocks and
quite a few assumptions that were unfounded.  But, the film still go its
point across and was done surprisingly well considering the length.  It's a
bit like a review of the Maroons' segment of the NFL Films' presentation.

SITE UPDATE:  NEW SATURDAY!
This article describes the Frankford/Pottsville game that took place Nov.
29, 1925.  This win led to Pottsville being ahead in the East, which caused
the Maroons to play the Four Horsemen since they had beaten the Yellow
Jackets with a humbling 49-0 score.  It sums up the game amazingly well.
If you're curious as to how this game went, then I suggest you read this.

Here we go- the Denver Post's article on the Pottsville Maroons.  I've gotten quite
a response, and I think it's quite interesting that such a prestigious newspaper
would choose to run an article on the Pottsville Maroon's misfortune of 1925.
You definitely have to read this, as it includes a plethora of opinions and
statements on both sides- from Ray Didinger to Joe Horrigan to Russ Zacko.
