Doc Striegal, manager of the Pottsville Maroons, when he ain't prescribing pills, arrived home from Atlantic City, Wednesday evening, with the good news that he and Mayor Bader had sat around the little table again, and that they had agreed that it would be a good thing for the Maroons and the Tornadoes to play a game of football down at the shore on December 6. This game has been in the air for some time, and the fans here and at the seaside have been anxiously awaiting the announcement of the date. Once again Pottsville will go down to the shore in a special train and of course the Pottsville Band will have to go along again. This game will give the fans an oppurtunity of guessing what would happen if Coalsdale and Pottsville should meet. Coaldale was just able to hold Mayor Bader's team to a tie, while it is generally expected that Pottsville will score almost at will on the Tornadoes. When the Maroons meet the mayor's team they will find an old Maroon there- Bill Yeastadt, who they say is playing a fine game this season. |
